Default 2006: Camshaft position sensor OEM Nissan parts number?

Hello,

I own a 2006 350z.

I drive on the highway 30 minutes to work.
Car loses power for a split second 20 minutes into my drive.
Cars fine when I get to work.
Later that day, drive to bank. Turn off my car, walk into bank. Car won’t start when I try to leave.

After calling a few people, car magically turns on. Starts kinda hard. Everything seems normal.
Drive hone

Next day, drive it to my garage. Starts fine. Cuts out a second after driving a few minutes. Time to fix.

Now here’s the real parts;

“Check engine soon” light steadily on.
OBD2 scanned P0345 camshaft position sensor/ bank 2

Read read read and decide to go with oem part from Nissan dealership. Go and ask for “camshaft position sensor for driver side bank 2”

After 170 dollars I head home to take the part out and install.
I go to the passenger side of my hood and stick my arm to the back driver side of the engine. I pull the part out and pull out a sensor that looks straight. The one in all pictures and the dealerships diagram show a straight sensor with a elbow top.

Everything seems right but when I try to connect the new oem Nissan sensor I just got from the dealership, it doesn’t fit. But in all the pictures and diagrams it looks like the right part.

The Nissan parts package has the number:
23731-AL61D

is that thebcorrect parts number or is it possible that there’s another sensor identical to the camshaft one near that area?

Also, the one I pulled out on the driver side that was already in my car looks straight with no elbow like the passenger side one’s suppose to.

im lost.
Helps 😕

automatic or manual?

in 06 it makes a difference as to what/which sensor set up you have back there.

Congrats, that site is incorrect for the revup once again.

So maybe I should just go to the dealership and ask for the same one from the passenger side that’s straight?

you have 4 back there. 2 intake and 2 exhaust.

2 straight 2 angles.

1 of each on each side.
different for intake and exhaust. do you need an intake or exhaust?

from reading what i can its sensor A . which is the intake sensor.

call a dealer. tell them the vin. 6 speed 06 350z . need the drivers side INTAKE cam sensor.

honeslty. might as well do both.
I just did the exhaust one myself.

I think you need the angeled for the intake.
my exhaust one on the drivers side was straight.

I swapped the top one that’s on the driver side
I just told the dealership I needed the passenger side and it worked great

I can feel the power difference
and it looked like the old ones tip was chipped

driving on the highway and my car died once again...
only for a split second tho

i wonder if any fluids bring low could cause this? My battery gauge eeemd to be at 14v and oil seems good right below 60 while driving

any thoughts?
