Default 350z cranks but wont start

Hey guys,

I’m absolutely out of ideas and pulling my hair out on this. For the last couple months I’ve had intermittent starting issues. Sometimes it’ll turn over, sometimes it won’t. But now, it just won’t. I replaced the crank sensor already, but not the cam. I don’t think the cam sensors are bad cause it’s not throwing any codes.

However, my Z does not have the original key nor does it have the original alarm system. It’s a Viper alarm system. I’m wondering if the car’s security system/ Immobilizer is locking me out but I have no clue how to test this. Can anyone please offer some advice? I have no idea what to do

I did not know this. I assumed they would cause most bad sensors usually do. I’ll order a pair of these tonight and see from there.

It's 2004 doing 120,000km (we use km where I'm from lol, it's also a RHD). So basically the same setup as you mentioned above. I guess this is my first thing to try! I will be getting a new bank 1 and bank 2 sensor tomorrow once they have in stock. Will update if it works, thanks a lot for the advice.

Use a better scanner that can read hidden codes.

Are you reading codes with Nissan's Consult ODB scanner?

I don’t have access to a consult scanner but wouldn’t the check engine light be on if something was throwing a code? I made a discovery today just before buying the cam sensors - on ignition, the security light stays constantly illuminated red. Could this point to a faulty Immobilizer/ key?

No, not all codes throw the SES (CEL). Never assume, plug in the diag tool.
