Default Introduction: My 350 powered 240....SX.

I've lurked on this forums for a long while now, only recently making an account. I've enjoyed seeing what other people are working on, so I figured I'd post this as well. Two Z car projects are in the works as well, but for the time being I'm still dumping money at this.

So I started with this car. I've had it for over a decade now. In that time it's taken many forms, but I won't get into all of that. This is where it get's pretty interesting. So i started with this:

As far as the exterior is concerned, it's a '91 240sx. Painted by a local Nissan body shop in Caribbean Blue (G35 color). Wheels are 18x10 Work Emortion XD9s. Body kit is Rocket Bunny v.1. Still have a couple things to go before I'm really happy with it and can start wasting money on the other cars.

The poewrplant for the better part of that decade has been this:

425rwhp SR20DET. Quite happen with the setup for the duration. Eventually, I started to feel like I was missing something, as I stopped drifting some time ago and realized that I enjoyed fun mountain runs way more. That being said, the somewhat laggy turbo and lack of low end torque wasn't really cutting it anymore.

Motor is from a rear-end wrecked 350z. New rear differential is a Nismo 1.5 way in a 240sx pumpkin (4.08ish final drive). Should provide all the acceleration and low end I need.

Yesterday was the first day it really ran for any duration. Still have a few issues to sort out. Fairly close to the top of the list...Need to replace my Buddy Club exhaust now, as a straight pipe isn't really what this car, or my ear drums, needs.

Welcome- as a former S13 owner, I enjoyed that model until the Z33 came into being. This looks like a clean installation and I'm guessing you were able to set the VQ35DE further back in the chassis from the SR20DET. It also looks like there are fabricated front wheel tubs in your car, so quite a bit of work into this.

Nice. Owned lots of S chassis before my Z. Always wanted to do that swap.

Where is that car from? I did head studs in a car very similar to that about 10 years ago.

Thanks for the interest guys.

2bad240, it wouldn't have been this one. I've done everything on this myself aside from wiring and painting.

Do you have some pics of the exterior cleaned up? It looks really nice.

Thanks all. Yeah I'll have some more pictures up soon. I went with some prefab exhaust parts and have found that to have been a mistake. I'm working on getting some better parts on it, trying to make it sound correct. It's crazy how much a y-pipe or equal length headers change exhaust note.

Coming in short order though- Origin wide front fenders and an Origin hood to better clear the plenum. Once I have the hood we'll figure out if the Cosworth or Kinetix manifold will fit.
