This CAI works well within the first 10 minutes of driving, but the power drops off once the engine bay gets hot. I never did a before and after dyno with it.

BTW - I still have my Injen CAI laying around, too bad your on the opposite coast.

Yes that last line was for "the coupe", which is why I have it separated.

I don't quite remember where I read it but I believe the stepped design from the Injen CAI was so that the product can be plug and play on cars with no retune otherwise it would get erratic readings like KA mentioned and run erratic

I dont quite remember but when you gained that power going to the 3" MAF was it coming from a tuned car to a car tuned for the 3" MAF?

Anyways, stepping up to the 3" MAF definitely seems like a worthwhile try given the few experience with the product. Especially the one documented by 1cockyz.

btw the_coupe, I have one laying around as well with a matched apexi filter and samco tube that I have yet to try. If you are willing to give it a try on your car with some pre/post dyno, I'd be willing to let you borrow it. LMK.

Yes, car was tuned then next time tuned again with the 3" maf. The car doesn't run worth a poop without rescaling it for the larger maf housing.

Which maf housing did you use? Was it worthwhile?

I would have to dig around, but I remember my car making 8-12whp more (on a stock longblock) with just the addition of the maf/samco house. Those results seem to be a-typical. Most seem to see 4-6whp. It must be tuned when you switch to the larger housing or it won't run well at all.

This is the only 350z specific 3" maf housing I can find http://www.gtmotorsports.com/product...cat=260&page=1 . If you don't make making a few brackets, etc to get the intake to fit....the universal will be fine IMO.

the_coupe, no i don't have the Injen CAI. I have the Samco hose > Z1 3" MAF > Apexi Filter laying around, practically the same setup that 03threefiftyz has minus the difference in filter. The apexi has a built-in velocity stack.

nice. i just got my black samco hose in!

just got done talkin with a local guy with a dynojet. said i could do my intake comparisons for $50. so who has the latest version injen intake they'd like to send for some proof of gains (with my setup of course). so far i'll be comparing....

1. AFE stage2 intake kit
2. Samco intake tube with oem maf housing and revup airbox with k&n drop filter
3. ???

and if anyone would like to donate to the cause, id be more than willing to accept
