For an engine with no accessories and kinda stripped down I am sure would be $500ish

If I am looking to have those posts shaved down as well, is it structurally ok to shave all six flat? I was thinking of just shaving the outer four and keeping the middle two to "maintain" structural integrity. Since the crawford and APS plenums kept the middle two posts in their designs, that's why I was thinking of keeping them.

How long have you been running it with all 6 cut out?

The plenum I have on my car currently has all 6 cut out. I have been running it like that for about 2 years now and my car is track only so WOT 90% of the time. I see no purpose for them and removing them essentially creates more volume. It's not like the car is going to create boost or so much vacuum that it collapses the center. It's pretty stout already. You can see mine at the end of this video showing the 87mm TB on the car as well.

That's weird. I think that is a browser issue or something because I am on my wife's laptop right now and it says the same thing. I walked into my office and used my desktop and it works there. Not sure what that's about.

It is an OEM plenum so the before I guess would be an untouched one. I have another untouched one in the basement if you want me to take a pic of it from the inside?

Is there any noticable gain to be had by removing the posts or just theoretical and just something to do to get every last little bit of umph?

I think maybe a little better throttle response, because the airflow isn't as turbulent going into the runners. Because look at the modded upper plenums that are out there: crawford, APS, and kinetix. The crawford and APS both have 2 small center posts, and then the kinetix has the one center post. And with my 1/2" spacer, I'll basically have a crawford/APS plenum once the posts are gone.

For me, I cut out the entire post with the curvature going into it and had aluminum plates welded into their spots. I did it because I kept cracking the manifold.

Are you guys serious?

Step 1
Take angle grinder and cut the posts near the top of the plenum from the inside
Step 2
Take upper plenum to welder have him cut aluminum to fit the holes
Step 3
Pay welder to weld in those 6 aluminum circles
Step 4
Check welds for good penetration and then put it on your car. If you can get the intake pressure tested then do it. Probably won't be able to though.

Seriously, this is like a brain dead easy mod aside from the welding.

Just wanted to post and let everyone know this didn't die. I am patiently waiting for MW9 to make a plenum. Again he and I are both very busy with our jobs so it's all time permitting.

I did some more messing around with the TB though. I found that on cold starts the car just spits and sputters and barely stays running for about 20-30 seconds. I have to modulate the throttle to keep it running, but after that its back to normal. It's like it needs just that little bit of time for some reason. I can run the car fine after that. Let it sit for 20 minutes, go back and start it an no issues. IIRC, I think the Titan guys had a cold start idle issue as well.

Any ideas on why its different for just those first 20-30 seconds?

Is it starting at a high idle and coming down, or is it starting at a fixed idle and staying there?
