I know with the OEM TB it starts somewhat high and then comes down as the car gets warm. I presume it's trying to do the same thing, but its struggling and almost stalls because the RPM keeps dropping.

Which 87mm unit are you using? GM has 2 of them, and they look the same. 12570790 and 12580760. Just curious.

I am actually using GM part number 12602800 (old) new PN: 12615495.

The PN's you listed I thought were for TB's off off the LS motors? Mine is not from an LS motor.

Have you tried adjusting that idle table though the PCM?

Not yet. Are you talking about the one that has the idle targets at what temperature?

I read on the Titan forum that they drill a small hole and this solved the idle problem.

Install Update 3:

As stated in the instructions, if your Titan engine dies upon cold starting, apply light pressure to the gas pedal as the engine starts; holding it for 5-10 seconds. Upon release the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) will take over.

If you would like to permanently fix the cold starting issue, drill a 3/16” hole in the center of the butterfly/throttle plate. For the LS2 TB, drill the hole centered just below the rotating bar. For the LS7 TB, drill the hole centered just above the rotating bar as shown in the picture attached. The hole in the picture is actually from back when I started with 1/8" and it wasn't enough. So far 3/16" has been working well.

Thanks. I think I did remember reading that now that you pointed it out. I am hesitate to give that a try just to not ruin the TB, but they're cheap so what the hell.

Next time I have it off the car to mess with it I will try that.

What they mention in there about having to apply slight pressure to the throttle for 5-10 seconds is exactly what I've had to do. If I recall though, they late fix that cold start issue with tuning. I will see if I can tune it out first and if not I will try the hole trick.

Sub'd! Really wanting you guys to get this to work. I'm convinced this along with intake tube size/maf tube size is at least 10whp NA on a high revving cammed motor.

Ya, I can understand that. When you finally get the prototype complete, any plans to make a few extra to sell? Group buy maybe?

I'll totally be first to sign up!

I have everything that I need for the 87mm tb conversion. Only missing the tb itself. Just to make sure before I order it, the PN:12615495?

We both had some major family issues in the last few months so things are delayed.

I am in the process of replacing all the bushings on my car with SPL right now. I just finished installing the solid diff and subframe bushings. I just installed all the sphericals on the rear knuckles too, just have to put them back on the car.

I am not in too much of a hurry to get the 87mm TB done as long as its done before I pull my motor. mw9 still needs to make the intake similar to what SG did. Once he gets that done I am going to test fit and make sure everything works on my car before I pull it and do the motor build. I don't really want to build my motor unless we can get something like this to work since it's a proven power maker especially on built motors.

This is gona sound a lil silly, but why not just take the "guts" out of our tb and put it in the 87mmtb? Isn't that all that pgm did?

Hmmmm... Not sure if all that would fit, but I'm sure you could modify it. That would be something to look into. I got this one to work pretty much. I am just going to fine tune it until I have the complete intake setup done.
