What a great thread. My own car is very similar to your car. Totally enjoying your ideas.

Man, it has been a few years since I have updated this thread. Sorry to those who were following along when I stopped posting. Life has changed quite a bit over the years.
Not much has changed over the past couple of years. I sorted out the issue with the door panel lights. Both work flawlessly now, but I still have not taken the time to sort out the window issue that began during that project.
Started dabbling a bit in hydrographics. As we all know the Zs interior is subpar. The usual panels were beginning to look terrible (window switch panels, shifter console, etc.) My side mirrors were beginning to peel as well. Ended up testing my skills on these parts. Used a base coat of a dark silver metallic with a carbon fiber film laid over top. Took alot of trial and error, but am happy with the way it turned out. The side mirrors were difficult. Each had to be dipped in two separate movements and I could not get the pattern to line up. As a result, I ended up laying down a layer of paint-matched OEM silver metallic on the portion of the mirrors that's directly facing forward. A tape line was then laid across and gloss black applied over top. The end result was carbon fiber pattern on the top and bottom, with a black and OEM silver "stripe" across the front.
All parts were cleared afterward. Definitely happy with the results! 😄 Have to work on other parts such as the upper waterfall when time permits. The door sills were just sanded then sprayed with gloss black/clear before being buffed. I will likely end up replacing them with carbon fiber sills. The other parts will likely be replaced soon after.
Because the Z has not been driven much im now experiencing a "no crank, no start" issue. Relays have tested fine and a new battery has been installed. No go. Looking at replacing the starter soon. Once I get her running again I'll be happy!
Newest new job is going well and allows for alot of extra money so im hoping to get this thread back up and rolling!

No crank / no starts pretty easy to jump in to … I’d put a volt meter on your starter solenoid trigger wire and see if it’s getting voltage.

Going to dig into it this weekend. Same behavior as if you tried to start the car without the clutch depressed. Cluster darkens, but no clicks or anything. Tested relays and all are good. Going to look at the starter next. Problem came out of nowhere so it has to be something simple.

When my car was not started for a while (project), it developed a no crank issue.. I checked fuses, relays, starter, ipdm, harnesses, clutch switch, etc.. Turned out, it was the starter fuse blown, when I checked the fuses, I pulled the one near it on accident lol.
It's always the simple stuff that gets overlooked.
