Personally, I don't think it's going to take 10 hours, but that's dependent on what all you're getting the shop to install. What exactly does your nitrous kit consist of, with all the accessories and what not?

All you have right there is the basic kit, which does NOT take 10 hours to install. You may want to think about getting a window switch/throttle position sensor, bottle heater, purge, electronic opener, digital gauges, etc etc.

It seems as if you don't know too much about nitrous at the moment. If I were you, I'd hold off on even buying the nitrous kit until you know well enough how everything works and what you think would be necessary to run nitrous safely on your car. Again, don't install anything or even buy anything. Just study up on it first over and over again, until you can recite it.

i understand nitrous what it does and how it works, i installed a kit on a focus that i had and had no safty stuff like air to fuel ratio gauge full cut off ect... i just used A WOT switch. i just wasnt sure if i should go with electronic TPS switch or a windo switch as in is one safer then the other ? as far as doing rolls in 2nd gear ect.... i already new i was going to get the fuel cut off switch, purge and heater, i didnt really think about getting the bottle opener. i should have been more clear on what i ment about getting safty goodies thats not really needed but would be nice to have.

I just assumed, since you just named off what comes in a regular kit, that you didn't know too much about nitrous. My bad.

Get a combo of TPS and a window switch, like the MDS or the Dynotune one, instead of a WOT switch.

i just got a NX wet kit and had a couple of questions...

1) I was wondering if anyone has used a mix of gas/toluene or race gas to increase the octane and ran a bigger (say, 125 or 150 shot) rather than pulling timing? since the main risk without retarding timing is detonation, i would think that 98-100 octane would reduce the chance of that

2) I have heard that the VQ has a tendency to lean out at WOT with only breathing mods, so would a small step up in injector size help with that? i can live with it running a little rich and losing a few hp. better safe than sorry.

3) Am i nuts to think i can take a 150shot just by mixing 20-25% toluene in the fuel to make 97-99ish octane and only using the spray when that is in the tank? without pulling timing?

I don't know anybody or at least haven't heard of anybody using a mix of toluene (or xylene, or methanol, or alcohol, or other "octane boosters" for that matter). I wouldn't want to experiment before fully knowing its effects and its results on the dyno first, though.

You don't need aftermarket injectors. Just adjust your pill size to a smaller one until you can get a tune.

I also wouldn't go all the way up to a 150 shot even if I c16 in my tank. That's just asking for trouble. Stick with a 100 shot, even if you have a 100 octane gas, until you can get a tune to SAFELY spray above 100 shot.

I would think that all you need is a T-fitting (unless there's a Y-fitting). The two bottles will connect at opposing ends of the T-fitting and the 3rd hole/leg of the T-fitting will lead to your nitrous solenoid.

You would probably want two bottle openers that will open simultaneously (not hard, if you make them be controlled by one switch). Maybe you'd want two pressure gauges, but I think one would be fine. Other than that, it should be the same.

If it's tuned properly, any kit will work.

I had a Nitrous Supply system which has only been on the market for a few years and I have had great success.
