I recommend anyone working on their own install to check out these videos from cold fusion nitrous. They are helpful and informative:

Here is a torque calculator based on hp and rpms. I am not sure how well it jives since I don't know the actual equation to it, others have posted it before, just can't find it.

as per site:
This calculator will output the amount of torque from
inputing the horsepower made at a certain RPM.

http://www.dragtimes.com/horsepower-...conversion.php

Ex: Adding an extra 100hp at 3000rpm will produce 175.07 lb-ft torque.

So when you guys plan out your jets, shots, and activation rpm, this would be helpful to know how much extra tq the vehicle will experience.

how would I connect the utec to the nitrous solenoids. I have read the part in the manual where it shows the pins for the spare solenoid control. It says to connect pin #7 to the solenoid or control unit..that part I understand..but what I dont understand is that they want me to connect a 12v power source to the solenoid as well...doing that it would keep the nitrous solenoids always on which is not good. The only sense i can make of it is if you are using a meth injection kit or a solenoid that requires a power, ground, and a signal wire to operate.

Do I just ignore the the 12v power source and just connect the red wire/pin # 7 to the solenoids?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is nitrous only recommend for drag strips?

How about for road coarse tracks?

Sorry to sound ignorant, but i'm kinda of thinking like Playstation's GT4 application, where I can use nitrous in straightaways.

Well seeing as how you would be hard pressed to keep enough pressure in the tank.......no. Not too mention you would only get about a mile and a half worth of nitrous in a 10lb battle. It would also be VERY hard on engine components....

First, you need to check the rules and regulations for whatever motorsport event you're participating in to make sure they allow nitrous.

I personally wouldn't spray on a road course (definitely not on street tires due to lack of traction). Other than the fact that you should only spray at WOT, your torque will increase significantly and instantly which means you're adding that much more stress that fast to various components on top of existing stress levels for racing on a course.

There are lots of ways around that. 10lb bottle is just a standard size and you can always get multiple tanks and/or just get a bigger one.

There are lots of automatic heaters that will keep the bottle pressure constant. You can also get a NANO kit that will keep your bottle pressure constant until you empty the bottle content.

I was just using the standard measure.......regardless, it's clear from his wording in the question that he hasn't thought it through beyond setting it up on his xbox 360. Where there is a will....there is a way, but lets be real....nitrous is not best suited in road race apps. Can it be done...sure, but why?

^ Depends on your driving style, whether or not you'll be drag racing (e.g., launching), the condition of your clutch, how often you'll be spraying, etc.

Stay with the stock for now and if you need to upgrade, you'll find out. That's the best answer I can give you, as there is no universal answer that applies to everyone.

Guys I have a question,

I'm thinking about selling the TT kit in my car and keeping the built 1:8.6 CR short block and spraying nitrous oxide (I know the car without the nitrous oxide will be slow as a turtle <BTW I like turtles >) but I know I will have a hard time selling the short block where I live.

So, what do you think the short block can handle? 150shot? less or more?

Thanks.
