I'm so clever
Is anybody here running 100 shot with no timing retard? If so, what have you done to substitute for retarding the iginition? Race gas/mix? Methanol injection? Prayer? Nothing?

I've done some searching and it doesn't really seem like a certainty either way. Some do, some don't. Those that do recommend to those that don't to do it; those that don't say it's not necessary as long as the fuel is jetted properly and afr is good.
I'm still trying to figure out the limits of my emanage blue. I know I can add retard, but I don't want to keep the ignition retarded when I'm not spraying.
The irony of this is that my car is at the dealership right now. One of the things I'm having them do is add 2* timing. If I even decide to hook up the nitrous, I know I'll have to take out those 2* from the get-go.

ditch the emanage and get a UTEC. You can have up to 5 maps saved on the UTEC and with the map selector switch, you can change maps on the fly. You just have to make sure you Rs dip down past 1600rpms (that's when the map will change). Plenty of ppl have run 100 shot on the stock ECU. Some of us are just a little more careful and decide to go with management to retard timing. You can do with the greddy, but you can't switch maps.

Will the stock ecu be able to correct enough even with the additional 2* timing the dealer is adding? I really wasn't anticipating doing nitrous, but if I do, I certainly want to be safe, within financial reason.

The stock ECU retards timing when it detects knock "X" amount of times. Someone else could probably chime in to tell you how many times knock has to be detected before it retards timing. Although running nitrous on +2 degrees of timing is not the smartest thing to do.

LOL, I know. I just kinda sumbled upon a great deal on a nitrous setup the same day I dropped my car off. I already had an appointment to take my G to the dealer (1 1/2 hours away), and was already planning on them bumping up the timing. I figured I'd still go ahead and get it done in case I decide not to run the nitrous.
Even if I do run N2O, I think I can use the EM to take the 2* off, essentially bringing it back to it's original timing. When I take the nitrous off, I can reset the EM timing to 0* retard, which will give me back my 2* from the dealer.
Or am I smoking some bad ****?
