Wow.. Well, I'd like to take back the nice things I said about EBC Yellow brake pads. They DID perform very well for 1 track day at Waterford. They ARE now almost GONE. I've got about 1/8 inch left. Glad I checked before tracking with them at Grattan! Emailed Oakos this evening - calling them in the morning. Hopefully they got some good race pads in stock for my crusty non-brembo brakes. ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

WOW
ONE track event man that sucks
I hope they didn't set you back too much man
Steve, for how much you track that thing you might want to look into getting an oil cooler man...

Until then.. I'm changing my oil before each track session. I rarely get 1000 miles on an oil change. I have also been getting my oil analyzed so I know that the oil is getting sheered down to almost a 20W... but no abnormal engine wear.
I'll give these Carbotech's a run.. They should work well if all the hype is accurate. Props to Oakos for getting me a good price for pick-up! Thanks Bart. Cool to have a local place to get performance parts SAME DAY.

we should all do an oil cooler group buy!
And steve hope you like the carbotech's. I haven't installed mine yet but I plan on it probably next year when I get new rotors.

Actually I never got to post my experience with Carbotechs. ...
They brake sharper than the stock brake pads but they are fading/going soft after a few laps in the session. If they are going softer, I drive about half a lap easy and they are back again. I never had this problem with the stock pads. I am running Super ATE Brake fluid. So, I am not sure what's the problem.

Deepu,
Man I thought the Nismo came with oil and dif cooler factory.
Or is that just the new one, I would look into that man before you go spend the money and its already there. I know the 370 needs them thats for sure

Thanks, please do. When I switch to my Brembo calipers I'll be running the DTC-70 pads in front and pfc-something in the rear. I'm just getting my money's worth out of my current calipers/rotors before I switch... I've had almost no rotor wear so far (Powerslot cryo treated).

Hey guys! Spotted a dark silver 350z with Borla exhaust the other day getting off at 8mile and Haggerty. I don't know if you guys know that person or not. I can't remember the license plate or any other details.
Also, nodded to a black 370z with a couple inside at the same 8 mile and haggerty exit off of i275.
Pretty generic I know, but maybe you guys might know.

I've had nothing but issues with my Racing Brake BBK - the kit itself is fine, but it just seems to EAT pads on the track. I tried two different Racing Brake "track" compounds and both did not make it through an entire day. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Hawk pads will fare better - if not, I am going to have to look into a different set up.

Yes - I think it is a bad design. The pads are too small. I have to try some race pads before I give up completely. They won't take the calipers back unless I can prove that they are too puny for the Z.

Not trying to be rude, but I thought that when you showed them to us at my place.
You should buy the new 370Z brakes, they are amazing!!!
Or buy a set of used Brembo's they will probably be cheaper then you think. THAT is aproven design thats for sure.

Well, the CarboTech XP-8's have awesome initial bite and performance ON THE STREET. After one hot lap, they fade just as bad as Project-Mu B-Force. But they do last.. I have plenty of pad left after 2 wet and 3 dry sessions at Grattan.
Once I got accustomed to the fade, I knew what to expect from the XP-8's and they worked Ok for me. I wish I could get the performance of the EBC Yellows with the life of the XP-8's or Project Mu's...
I would recommend the XP-8's for Auto-X. I think they would still have that killer bite for a 40second run through the cones. After I installed them and went for a test drive my first thought was JonnyBoy's stock Brembo setup with that strong initial bite of the brakes. Impressive.
They also squeak - even with shims installed. I only noticed this while going very slow pulling into my garage.
