Norcal Track Days
Here is the video. Lap 3 (starting at 6:00) was a 1:42.3, and lap 5 (starting about 9:31, which had a touch of traffic heading into T11) was a 1:43.00. Good times!

Here's a description of the 1970 "DemoZ" that I'm playing with, as well as some laps from his car two years ago:

I use to go to LMK a lot but I find UMIGO more fun, karts are faster and course is more technical IMO. You should come and see which one you like more
lol

K1 is a nationwide chain of electric karts owned (managed?) by THE Boris Said. They are in Santa Clara, off of Central Raceway. They are fun, but I hate that the staff can control the kart power using their little handheld rheostat. I get mad, and I'm not afraid to tell em'!
[QUOTE=solidfish;9537427]Got out to thunderhill for the first time on the new car. Was a lot of fun. Here are some pics:
Looking good. Is that a T or a V6? How does that compare to your old Z?

Brakes were all stock, so I was getting some fade throughout the day. Tires were RE01R and only suspension mod is Eibach springs. I didnt officially record time, but from our estimates, it was like low 2:20s. The car only has 4k miles on it so I really wasnt pushing it very hard. I think I could have shaved a few more seconds off.
This is the 2.0T. I thought the Genesis handled quite well and I was comfortable in it on the turns as I was on the Z. Perhaps a bit softer than the Z, but the suspension setup is a bit different. I do have aftermarket springs, but its nothing aggressive.
Cant say much about the brakes. I ran the stock pads, which Hyundai cuts at the factory to reduce noise and dust. (???) So although its large Brembos, its only using like 60% of the pad's surface area. I've got an order in for some new carbotechs, so I'm sure this will improve once I get a pad with full contact.
Perhaps the most significant difference was the lack of power. The stock engine is pretty weak, as I had a difficult time keeping up with anyone on the straights. But, this can be easily remedied with an ecu flash and other small mods. Something I'll probably end up doing but I'm trying to get a few more days on it as stock. I'll be at the next NCRC event in Janurary. Cant wait!
