Norcal Track Days
It's a gopro HD.
The fastest section for me was the sweeping left-hander coming up to the Toyota banner wall, before the hairpin onto the front straight. Passenger was watching speed and said I was doing 114 before braking there.

Some pics and short vids from the Sears Point track day. Longer, in-car, vids are in the works.

Rev-limiter in 4th gear going into T11. I'll have to look at my DAQ to see what that is for speed given the tires.

Food for thought. It might be worth renting a spec miata or something for comp school. There are always LOTS of accidents during the multi day comp school here in the D.C. region. Since there isn't a min track time requirement. There are many people who are not remotely ready for W2W out there, and all the close racing creates.....issues. Don't want to ding up the new car!

Im much too financially conservative to race w2w. I'd have to have full sponsorship with no liability in a car to race. I have seen too many people go bankrupt or not have proper priorities who race w2w. Its a great sport but way too expensive to do things right.
I almost did Russell School series but just couldnt justify the cost. I see racing friends blowing engines, breaking trannies, wrecking cars etc.
Whats the sayng? How do you make a small fortune? Start out with large fortune and go w2w racing. Im surprised w2w is so popular in our economic times.

I'll say this...to campaign a car locally (regionals, etc) is not terrible expensive. You can opt to run R6's..get a few more sessions (races), etc.
To play with the big boys on the national level costs a ton. Seems like most cars had 3 dedicated sets of tires (A6's or RS's) AND a set of wets just for the weekend in T1/2/3. That's not to say that they don't re-use some for practice, but they qualify and race only on stickers (or very very lightly scrubbed tires).
Obviously you can offset that a little by winning, but you are still going to buy a ton of tires if you run a "full" schedule of national/regional events.

Would love to do W2W but need to have a lot more money in the bank to justify.
