Sorry to see, but glad you're ok. T6 scooped up my friend's 350 a few weeks ago as well - sheared all 5 studs RF as he hit the dip, which was hours after I busted a hub there in the RF as well.

Makes me feel little better hearing others have had issues there. I have heard that turn tore up a few Grand Am cars too. I can see why. It looks like you can drive over berm no problem but there is a lip there thats hard to see as you come up the hill. Car compresses just as you hit that area.

Man it was a major whack. Felt like hitting a curb doing 75 MPH.

Funny thing is I thought my SPC upper arm had just been jolted loose. Imagine my horror when I stepped out of the car to witness the carnage.

Oh well its first time I have broke a car on track in 10 years. Could have been a whole lot worse.

Dang I was just getting comfortable too. Had just passed a newer 911 Carrera. I think he was surprised at how fast my car was. He was trying to lose me down straight from 4 to 5 and I reeled him in like he was standing still down the straight. Car is blazing fast now!

Which GY tire is that that you're running, and in what sizes? What kind of speeds do you hit going into T2 and T5, and what sort of lap times these days? Chasing P-cars fun.

Those are dot r road race compounds 315 rear/295 front.

This was first time out with supercharged car. Hadn't been on track for over a year. Last time I ran the car it was pretty stockish and NA running 1:44s.

I was on fourth lap in first session when this happened. Hadnt started timing laps even. Lets put it this way on my third lap I started to get comfortable and went past A fast friend in a spec 350z. Passed STi, Porsche and a supercharged Exige. The car is capable of sub 1:40 laps easily. Felt like guys in front of me were standing still. But that's 500 hp on Laguna. It's wild how you can relax driving style with that kind of power. I'm so used to carrying huge speed off turns in slower cars but with 500 hp on tap I could relax and focus on getting car set for bit burst of power off the turn. Cars in front of me would be wagging tails through turns and I'd just run by them in straights easily. Power rules on Laguna.

Oh we'll car will be a little faster next time. Rob and his team are all over major make over for Shamu. I'm thinking name change will be required. ....Shamzilla?

Anyone headed to Laguna 12/1-2 with TMR? We will have at least 3 Zs there.

A SpecZ? I don't know of any others that have fully completed prep of a SpecZ. None have shown up for any of the NASA races at least. Maybe next year.

Yes, power is advantageous at Laguna, but of course only to a point. Good brakes and ***** to push the brakes are a very close 2nd, hence why we scoop up those other cars that should be faster than us but aren't. I agree that your 500hp toy should be capable of a solid sub 1:40, like 1:35, but none of that matters until the car proves it can last without failure, overheating of oil/water, sound, etc. There were two supercharged 350s there a few weeks ago, and both ran in the 1:45-1:49 range. Power can't make up all of it.

Are there any groups that provide transponders besides Speed Ventures? I usually stick with Speed Ventures because they're the only ones I know of that provide track times.

Trackmasters doesn't provide transponders. At least not when I've asked.

NCRC does provide transponders for $25. Sweet. And it's only $169 for Laguna! It's always $320 at Speed Ventures.

NCRC has the best organizations Ive run with (other then running with private parties)

driving school/solo is a cluster f*ck but point by/open are not as much.

Ive driven with speed ventures - I like how they allow you to choose your group, my last time with them I put myself in advance so I didnt have to worry about point bys..it worked out well.

Even point-by in NCRC is sometimes questionable. Plenty of footage to back that one up, lol.

I just thought of poor Bonnie and t.e.a.m. racing. Even if you've never tracked with her, I'd suggest sending her a pleasant exit email of encouragement/gratitude. She is the biggest sweetheart and it's a shame that they now have to hang up their (racing) gloves.

There are a few FREE smart phone programs that are good for track times, especially at Laguna where service is good.

eh, I didnt have much of a problem, my last time I ever ran in solo (6? months ago) was SUCH A CLUSTER FU*K!

one of my sessions I was stuck behind a civic, got out of 13 at thill and just passed him, got black flagged. I asked the lady why they haven't flagged him yet, she said they have a bunch of times but hes not listening or he doesn't know what a black flag is

now I just run advance/open passing with all the organizations..its a lot better.

My dad tried out Trackmasters which is a $10 Android app. It's a very promising app but he had poor success at Infineon. I might try it the next time I'm at Laguna.
