3 laps at Thunderhill from last weekend. Now with music! Harharhar.

No music (better IMO) and has commentary:

Hey everyone, got my Z about a year ago and just recently took it to an autocross event test and tune event with trackmasters-racing and had a blast. You guys should sign up for september in Sonoma was the only 350 out there! Was like 3 hours of autocross, totally worth it for $75.

Looking to have my first track day sometime in august once my bank account recovers from buying parts haha. I have talked to people and they recommend thunder hill because there is a lot of run off (just incase), but it is about a 4 hour drive for me. Would laguna seca or sonoma be good? What organization do you recommend for first timers?

By the way, do you guys get track insurance?

If you are in San Jose, T-hill is about 2.5 hours of driving. Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway are closer, but they are more technical and the walls are closer. I suggest you run 4 or 5 times at T-hill before going to those tracks.

Go with CityTech (6/28 T-hill), Speedventures, NCRC (7/12 T-hill), etc. I looked into track insurance, but it has a minimum policy premium that wasn't favorable for me.

Thanks for the advice! I just signed up for thunderhill on 7/20 with hookedondriving. A little pricey but hopefully the instructors will be worth it for my first time!

Very cool! Yes, a good place to start (not a good place to stay, IMO)!

My CityTech Track Day on June 28 Friday still have a few spots left. Scott will bring his Green Spec Z and I will bring my Orange Time attack Z there too. Hopefully I will be able to see some Zs show up too.

^ If I would have known about your event earlier I'd go to that but I've been committed to 6/30 for a little while

Throw back

my last time at Thunderhill, July 2012, and my first time ever off the racing surface (went off T12) while pulling back on G35 with custom exhaust passes me.

Yes. Bring your patience and your ability to listen. Do not try to be a hero or be the fastest out there. Be smooth, or your instructor (should) slow you down even more or pull you in.

Watch a lot of video of T-hill, be able to play it back in your sleep, IMO. You'll be a step ahead and - with that - you'll add speed more quickly. Make sure you have enough brake pad.
