Laguna Seca on 9/15 is 105db. A whopping $340 with TMR...but to not have to worry about turn 5??? That's pretty irresistible.

I just do my 3/4 shift as I approach the sound check. It's perfect for the RPM unless I get a really good run out of 5. Never had a problem. $340, not worth it IMO.

Wasn't driving my 350z, I was in a blue integra with abxuously big looking aero in point by group with my friend.

Short shifting didn't help me much, but I have a blower, aggressive cams, and a pretty open exhaust. $340 for a full day is better than $250 for 3 laps before getting kicked out for meatballing.

Fair point!

I actually do my 3-to-4 shift right as I go by, and the timing with the RPM is nearly-perfect so that I go past while I'm in neutral during the shift. I just shift slowly, and essentially coast by there without much loss of momentum. My Z is 104dB at WOT otherwise, but I also do run a turn-down/away pipe for Laguna.

I bet you'd pick up at least 1-2 seconds off your lap if you were to just WOT up that hill...especially if you short the apex and keep to the left like most people do. That shack is nerve-racking.

June 28-30 speed ventures did a 105db day iirc and it was $390/day...I had a few friends go, idk if I would ever spend $390 for a single day HPDE, maybe for like a w2w race, NASA or something but not HPDE. I'm cheap though lol.

Track day 7/20 at thunderhill went great! Definitely addicted. Learned a lot and got better each run. Looking forward to going again in the coming months with the new sway bars that will be on by then!

NCRC is cool, run with them most of the time.

When's the next time you plan on going out?

I have my eye on thunderhill sunday August 11. THere is the 10th as well, but it is already almost full. Hoping the sunday day will be less popular/less cars on the track for the solo group.

It'll sell out, their weekends always do, so don't judge it on that. I can't go that weekend because prior obligations and I wanna have my roll bar built before my next day.

I am not. I can't even decide what my next day is. Maybe BRP 9/14-15, maybe autoclub 9/8 for Nissan meet, maybe oct redline time attack at willow springs. Tooooooo many fun days coming up! Just gotta prioritize!!!

Just got back from second track day at thunder hill. Was interesting, first time without instructor. On close to last lap on last session I pushed turn 2 a bit too hard. Not enough experience to tell exactly what I did what, but I think I got on the gas a little too early and a little too much, started to feel like I was going too fast and had too much oversteer so I lifted. Car started sliding pretty bad and eventually ended up spinning out into the dirt and got black flagged. Was a good oh **** moment for sure but thankfully everything was okay! Definitely need to work on being smoother.

If you're spinning you're learning, it took me a while to not get off the throttle even if I feel like I'm going too fast. When's your next track day?
