So, wiring one IAT in Bank 1 and removing the two MAF's would work?

If it will work then you may get a 50% discount on a Haltech v1 harness (I know your looking for one )

Ahh i think the confusion is that Hal is talking about how stock ecu will trigger a CEL if you dont run both MAFs. Not sure why that matters though since the Haltech can send a dummy signal to the stock computer. Cant you just split that signal to both MAF inputs on the stock ECU? And then just wire the 1 AIT like you would for a DE?

Either way, no additional inputs using the HR, so no bank specific AIT/MAF compensation.

Where does one get the MAP input for the haltech on a HR since its basically 2 separate plenums (or is it?)

The HR and VHR plenums do not separate the two banks of incoming air. It is fairly open inside. We just tap a barb into the rear of the plenum to get our MAP reference.

HAL is 1.08 a software upgrade, firmware upgrade or both? Do we need to take precautions when we upgrade as outlined here?

that's for completely different cars. We are Pro Harness haltech.

Added Support For Honda Pro Plug-in EP3
* Supports 1.08.x firmware for the following Haltech ECU's

Pro Plug-in Series (R32,DC5,EP3)
Platinum Sport Series
Platinum Sprint 500
so none of that should apply to us. I was excited because it said something about inputs. We need to find the list of the upgrades for pro harness haltech.

wouldn't even worry about it until you see precautions tagged onto the exact model you have.

Hal,

This is from the FSM:

ECM uses only the intake air temperature sensor (bank 1) for engine
control and self-diagnosis.
It does not use the intake air temperature sensor (bank 2)
Do you think that will work if I wire the IAT to bank 1 and remove the MAF's? (just like the DE's guys)

From a tuning standpoint, no problem using one IAT sensor. From a CEL standpoint, I suspect you will have a code for the missing sensor in bank2.

More specifically, I think this may be the code you get if eliminating MAF2/IAT2

P010B (Bank 2) - Mass air flow sensor circuit range/performance problem
Possible Cause: • Intake air temperature sensor

It would be nice to have an AIT correction for the prime pulse table so that you could compensate for heat soak. If v1.08 had any firmware changes, Hal would've been all over it probably... Most likely just tweaks to ECU mgr.

Yes please! That would be a great feature, my iat skyrocket quickly after shutdown.

I've been thinking of changing my prime pulse table to be tuned off AIT instead of CTS - would prefer a 2D table but now that I think about it, perhaps a heat soaked AIT sensor is a better input to use rather than CTS. Fuel should be increased for very low AIT, decrease for ambient temps, then increase again for hot temps... Will probably screw up my cold and warm starts. Heat soaked starts might improve though .

Crazy man. No one needs 50 psi. You're just ill!

v1.08 has no firmware change, but it does allow >50psi tuning.

rcdash, I am not sure I follow the problem you are having? I don't see a downside to adding AIT-based prime correction, but haven't seen the need. Can you expand?

No biggie Hal but on very hot days, about 20-40 mins after shutdown or after prolonged idle with a hot engine with air intake temps passing 140 deg F, I've found that it often takes 2 attempts to start the car. Cold starts and hot starts are fine if air intake temps are not sky high. Not an issue except on peak summer days... The car starts perfect on 1 attempt 95% of the time so I'm reluctant to change the entire axis to a different sensor.

V1.08 is available

http://www2.haltech.com.au/index.php...164&Itemid=100

seems that the dwell axes setup is gone now though, so make sure you remember how those axes were set in 1.07.

RcDash, you have a PM LOL

AHhh, now I understand your PM. Dwell time is just a single value - always has been. No axes. You are good. Besides the max pressure, anything good in there? I wait for Hal to test things out and download from the injected site... With no new firmware, it doesn't seem worth upgrading - few people need to reach 50 psi!!!
