It may be optimistic with the weather we've been having, but I've confirmed the first track day of 2007 at Pueblo Motorsports Park (PMI). If you've read the other post on Colorado track days, this is your opportunity to get instruction on driving at speed, as well as certification to rent the track later on during the year. I realize March 9th is a Friday, but all PMI safety courses are scheduled for weekdays, so you have five weeks to get ready for it!
This event will be sponsored by Nissan Sport magazine and will feature a variety of exercises designed to build basic driving skills. This course will go beyond what we covered in past HPDEs by teaching how to safely pass and be passed in a variety of scenarios. You'll learn how to safely enter and exit the pits/paddock and how to recognize dangerous situations and what to do. We'll be utilizing the entire 2.2 mile road course from early in the morning until they lock the gates on us at 5 p.m!
Cost of the event remains the lowest in North America at $150.00/person! As an added bonus, it will include a one year subscription to Nissan Sport Magazine (if you're already a subscriber, we'll simply add on another year to your existing subscription). In addition, everyone who signs up is invited to a PAID dinner at the Cactus Flower restaurant after the day is over. One change from past HPDEs is that I'll take reservations and payments IN ADVANCE for this event. Please PM me ASAP and I'll send instructions on how and where to send payment to reserve your spot!
Again, please post any questions here and I'll try to keep everybody updated. I'll be developing a new syllabus for the class and if the weather cooperates (PMI and Pueblo haven't received the same amount of snow we have along the Front Range), we'll have some serious FUN at the track. Who's in?

Do I even have to say it? Of course I'm in!!!
Thanks to dkmura for putting this together, and to Nissan Sport for pitching in and helping to make it happen. I hope we get a large turnout for this - after all, when was the last time a magazine subsidized a track day with instruction, and threw in dinner and a year's subscription as part of the deal?

David, my Z is all set except for the tires. I have some Kumho all season's on now that are going to squeal and tear like a..... nevermind. But, will it be cool to be there with some all season's? I know I'll be quite a bit slower than most and have to pit more often, but if it's cool with you, then I'm in. I just don't want to disrupt the flow of this class.

Need an inexpensive suggestion for brake pads to sub my Axxis Ultimates that I'm running on my StopTech Stage II (non-Brembo) kit. I'll also be ordering my SA helmet from that shop you suggested David. Thanks!!!

I might come, can't confirm yet though. I will let you know David.
I am in the midst of a winter project with the car and don't know if it will be completed by then. If it is, then I should be able to show up.
