[QUOTE=ZSpectrum;9398683]Both are still better than kws. Their spring rates as usually jacked, the few redone sets I've used(robispec) were pretty good. I'll rephrase it, factory v3s suck, redone ones are just fine. Ive seen a few sets break, but the company stood behind their product so no biggie.[/QUOTE

Cool. So you feel the quality of the bc shock valving is better or equal to kw ?

There are two sides to the oil business though. My family is a great example. My grandfather worked for Gulf Oil(no longer around) and moved around all the time. My dad was born in North Dakota, lived in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and then Texas all before graduating HS. My dad is also in the oil business, but not for a big company or anything. Before I graduated HS I moved once, 4 miles across Dallas.

Just depends on the kind of work. My grandfather was a geologist, so he was more in the fields. My dad is a landman, so he's usually in an office. He does travel every now and then though. Actually we have almost moved before for jobs he considered, but it was never necessary.

Patrick, I didn't realize you had the opportunity to be a landman. That's a great job in the oilfield. I was thinking you were going to work on a drilling rig. I have a bachelor's degree and haven't used it yet. Still out here in the field.

Stu's dad is a great example. You can make great money and not have to move every 5 years doing that.

He's been in the DFW area pretty much straight out of college. So around 40 years. I think right out of college he was in a suburb(I want to say Decatur), and had to travel more often though. I know the company hired two guys, one from OU and my dad from UT.

Eric, what was your degree in?

Experience in this discussion, do the two of you have an opinion to help me and my son on his 240sx, he is currently in need of suspension change.... he is not tracking / drift , just DD ? Coilovers or new struts with lowering springs ? $ limits his a bit ....any suggestions ? He wants better stance but wants ride also.

I'm sorry but BC is NOT better than KW. How many real racing teams use BC vs. KW? There's a reason they're at the bottom of the totem pole.

Stu, I have a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS). It's essentially a business degree, but through a different college at UNT because I needed to transfer all my stuff without losing 40+ credits.

Jody, I would get him the Stance GR+ or maybe LX series. You may still be able to get some KSports a bit cheaper than stance, but not sure at this point.

Better build quality, no. Better spring rates/ valving stock for stock, IMO yes. On another note, what do you think about fortune autos? I know a few redline teams are using them. If I was a real racing team I would be using motons or penskes and pay an engineer or three to figure out spring rates and everything else. Anything more than two way adjustable and it goes over my head.

I want to say the topspeed coilovers ride nice and are CHEAP, or the low end bcs.

I've narrowed my new car selection down to two, but I need some other options to look at in the same price range. Isf and e90/92 m3 are my two current options. I need to sell two cars

Jody,

if money is an issue & he is only gonna DD the car, then I would just get some springs with like bilstien struts...I don't know why you'd wanna spend the money for a performance coilover when your not gonna track the car.

Eric,

I always like to say " BA,BS, BFA, BAAS,.....BFD ! " Just kidding man....I know how important a degree is....I would like to get my graduate degree someday myself.

Mackie,

I've always liked the isF, but haven't driven in one to see if it is nice or not. Also I heard that the gas mileage sucks really bad on those ??? And as for the M3's....I would prefer the e92 M3. And again, I have not driven one of these either to tell how it feels....but if you get one I want to drive it !

Scott,

I believe it is ALIVE ! The JAKESTER is BACK !

Chris, I agree but how do you pick stuts and lowering springs ? He wants to sit 1 inch lower front and rear ? And which springs would you go with ?

Does BC even shock dyno their products? If so, do they release it to the public? I didn't think they did either of those, which is a huge red flag imho.

As for the Fortune Autos, I did look into them when I was researching coils and was convinced by their marketing but I just didn't think there was enough support or evidence to back up their products just yet.

Hey Chris, Did KW give you a dyno sheet with your V2's?

Ok, so I just got a hitch put on my wifes SUV so I can trailer my Z to the HPDE this next weekend !

Maximum tow capacity is 5000 lbs....so with the Z on the trailer....no sweat.

I just rent an Auto transport from U-Haul so I can bring me down some extra goodies....just in case.

_____________

Jody,

I would just replace the shocks/struts with whatever Bilstein or koni has as replacements.....they should be able to handle a 1" drop from springs....Then just get some Tein or whatever springs to drop you down.

_____

Damn ! I Can't believe the Cowboys lost this one !
