JasonZ, I'm currently on stock flywheel. I've wanted a new flywheel but didn't have the funds back when I was getting my tranny swapped (2nd time around) so I just got the clutch kit. If and when I do the clutch, I'll most likely do the flywheel also so thanks for the info on the JWT kit. With that being said, though, I'll probably opt for a lighter weight flywheel when it's time.
Stephen, unless you launched wrong repeatedly, no aftermarket non-OE replacement clutch should've been fried after only 2 drag days. I've been to the strip more often, launched harder and on slicks, and drove on this clutch for longer and it's finally starting to die. Although you had more whp (probably not tq, though) than me, I don't think the difference between our Zs was great enough to overcome the difference in years and level of abuse. How were you launching on the street tires to kill your clutch after just 2 days?

I hot lapped way too much, pretty much end of story with that. The 2 or 3 track days that I went to with it I was competing in 2 or 3 classes, so I never gave it the chance to rest. I was launching anywhere from 3-4k, always trying to find the sweet spot on my street tires. I wish I had used slicks or D/rs, but I was unable too. If I had to guess I was around 420 in the torque department.

BTW, I think the APS 2.5" TD exhaust is a bit too big for N/A applications. I was running slow as hell N/A trapping under 99mph (WTF), regardless of the shitty clutch. I remember you also experienced slower ETs when the conditions were pretty good (DA of ~830') and at a faster track.
i cant imagine daily driving my Z with my current clutch or even my last clutchmasters clutch. if the exedy held for that long and it was civil on the street, i say go with it again chris.

I'm still hoping that the clutch isn't actually going out yet.
this is a bit pricey buit could save you money in the long run.\

I loved the way this one felt and performed, but I just don't want to have to deal with changing my clutch every 3 years/50K miles. But then again, I guess it comes with the territory. Still, I'm going to bump up the spray sooner or later so I may as well upgrade to something better and more stout.

and from the sound of things, your clutch is gone..if it smelled that bad then your flywheel is definitely smeared over and you will need to get a clutch AND flywheel combo for sure....

Im more excited about the sides..........i love me some mac & cheese, mashed patatoes, etc...........
Turkey is good and all, but when it comes to meat, i love ribs, steak, etc.........not turkey so much....

Question or Poll :
What do you guys think of the GTR or Lexus Hyper Black / Charcoal
rims ? The texture, gloss, finish, shine, etc....
Or would you prefer a Diamond Black color ? Something with a bit of Metallic to it ?
Just curious for input.

edit, if you ever notice alex "nitrouz" almost always had some sort of gunmetal wheel even though he went through a million different volks it seemed like. he had short stints with some black and blue versions of volks but his mainstays were always gunmetal of some sort. gt-c's, gt-s' and phantoms, all gunmetal. dude has great taste.

So you don't care for the newer finishes on the GTR or others ? ( Black Pearl )
Not a fan of dark/black/gunmetal wheels here. I like the wheels to stand out. Damn Chris seem like the car is seeing an entire make over! Details details details naooo!
LMAO - I did the same thing - I thought he was selling...but he is just looking for something different.. ya know - change it up a lil.. Im sure we all wont know until he is done..
Chris,
Of those choices I would go with the Volks in their glossy gunmetal. You should be able to find someone to trade yours with.

I hear ya on the wheels standing out,( remember, I have the TA's ) but in my case I'm going to be blending All Darks. So it becomes more of what will work best together as tones on tones. Shades of Blacks, darks & greys & even charcoal / metallics.
I just don't want to be Black, Black, on Black, Black, etc....
You know what I mean ? I want to have slight differences in Body paint to Rims, and even lights, windows, and down to the emblems. Small subtleties
can make a big difference.
Jake has a bit of whats going on already....as I talked with him on the phone a while ago before I started to sell & acquire new things.
Thanks again Jake.
No one local has what I need or want.
Things should be finished by the first week of Dec. ......... I hope !

not sure if i have seen a lighter flywheel that has a replaceable friction plate........something i think you should consider in your line of racing....ie. drag..
anything lighter with a non replaceable friction plate, wont have the thickness for resurfacing either most likely......

So there are more like JWT but are more expensive not but too bad (about 100 bucks more average) but Ive yet to see ANY of the friction plates for sale
