Good Morning, I'm off to day.
Then work Tuesday, Wednesday, then off for 4 days....Woo-hoo !
I think I will go skate the new Lewisville park, and play some golf later after lunch.

So, who here has aftermarket clutches? If you could, please give a short description of what clutch(es) you've had in your Z/G, how much it cost you (with/without install), and how you'd rate them.
I think I need another clutch. I started hearing some weird, intermittent noise recently but I went to the drag strip anyway to set a new PB. I ended up toasting my current Exedy stage 1 clutch and now it slips off idle on the street. FML. I've been using this clutch for 3 years, I think, and it's been abused more than seven $2 truck stop ****** combined.
I also had too little fuel and the car cut off power (and even turned itself off during a run) while on the spray. That actually could have led to a blown engine, but luckily my engine's a beast so it's still going strong at 100K+ with juice.
I'm just hoping I lightly glazed over it and it wears off with some daily driving. I still pulled a 12.2 despite all the issues.

I have a Jim wolf, had it installed at urban Nissan when they replaced my transmission they charged $150, the clutch was around 250. Overall I'm happy with it but I don't race my car...
I need something rated higher than that, I would think. My clutch goes through too much abuse so with ratings that low, I'll wear them out as quickly as I did my current one (assuming it really is toast). I'm guessing I'll have to find something around 5-600 tq mark to actually make it last.
My Exedy stage 1 clutch is rated similar to the JWT and it lasted less just under 3 years with around 52K miles on it.
Ask the guys that were at the drag strip about how my clutch smelled throughout the entire event yesterday.

if they are doing a tranny swap, thats soo dammn easy to do when they are going in there anyways..then again, that seems about right for what a dealer would charge....
Chris,
I have a JWT, but i agree that you need something stronger for drag....
However, consider the fact that the JWT flywheel has a $65 dollar replacement friction plate surface.......
Notice how the flywheel has the tons of screws holding the friction plate on:
Some are not replaceable, and if they are, they are more costly....
sure some can be resurfaced, but thats down time, and that bites...
Something to keep in mind......

Doesn't take away from the awesomeness that is the Camaro.
JasonZ, I'm currently on stock flywheel. I've wanted a new flywheel but didn't have the funds back when I was getting my tranny swapped (2nd time around) so I just got the clutch kit. If and when I do the clutch, I'll most likely do the flywheel also so thanks for the info on the JWT kit. With that being said, though, I'll probably opt for a lighter weight flywheel when it's time.
Stephen, unless you launched wrong repeatedly, no aftermarket non-OE replacement clutch should've been fried after only 2 drag days. I've been to the strip more often, launched harder and on slicks, and drove on this clutch for longer and it's finally starting to die. Although you had more whp (probably not tq, though) than me, I don't think the difference between our Zs was great enough to overcome the difference in years and level of abuse. How were you launching on the street tires to kill your clutch after just 2 days?

BTW, I think the APS 2.5" TD exhaust is a bit too big for N/A applications. I was running slow as hell N/A trapping under 99mph (WTF), regardless of the shitty clutch. I remember you also experienced slower ETs when the conditions were pretty good (DA of ~830') and at a faster track.
