Thanks to Fitha and Nuge for suggesting the headlight restoration stuff (I used the turtle wax one, not the Meguires).

Worked like a champ!

You guys probably don't know me - not sure if i've ever posted in dfw lounge. I have some sort of rod bearing issue in my built motor. I've been wondering what to do about it. Kinda been out of the Z/G circle for a couple years with the car sitting in the garage for various reasons. Jotech quoted me $3300 and I think they said it was a spun rod bearing. My motor knowledge is limited. Fire away...

If you have an issue with the rod bearing then they will have to disassemble the bottom end of the motor to fix it.

How do you test to see if your problem is with a bearing or valve etc?

Supposing it's a rod bearing issue, how many hours of labor to replace and whatever else needs to be done?

HAPPY MONDAYS

I hate meetings early in the morning... other than that they really are relieving. Its the start of the week days that enable me to have great sleep

yes it does, three days of sub zero temps with over 30 mph winds, and about 15 inches of snow total.

Cut the longer stub axle.....install quaife...done...

hand carry the stub axle to any local steel supply shop, machine shop, any shop with a metal band saw and have them cut away!......10 bucks cash kinda deal...
