Default Standalones EMS for 04 350z ?

What do you suggest for n/a and FI for 04 350z?
It must be standalone and has PnP harness

1- AEM EMS? (not sure if it has pnp for z)
2- HKS VPRO? (not sure if it has pnp for z)
3- Haltech? ($$$$$$)

any other standalones ?

I hate the UTEC becasue has no support. no good software..etc

Maximum price I can pay is $1500

No standalone fits your budget. Save $500 more and get the Haltech. You won't regret it.

Why doesn't anyone ever consider Osiris? Geesh guys. It's $900 and the Osiris Tuner will be shipping in under 2 weeks if it all tests correctly. No wiring needed, no miracles, just set it up and go on your stock ECU.

Name something that you need to adjust that we don't have as far as tuning, be honest.

I love Osiris and Cipher. And what you say is true for NA certainly and low boost FI. There are certainly limitations given the resolution and no MAP input though I hear you're doing quite well with reworked MAFs somehow. You can't control boost or adjust traction control (so add ons required for those). You can't adjust the TCM - but no one else can either. I'd take it over the UTEC any day of the week, that's for sure. If I was building up my car today, starting with Osiris makes a lot of sense. It's useful even if you move beyond its capabilities (which is why I have both Osiris and the Haltech).

Correct on Boost control, but a good solid reliable boost controller is under $500 now and it will have a scramble boost button for when someone is egging you on. The tune works for all boost levels as long as you've tuned for max boost, based on the flow that the MAF sensor sees.

Haltech adjusts traction control?

Yeah I see all the standalone ecus between $1900 - $2300 with tha pnp harness and some other option.

Actually my car is 06 Altima 3.5l and I have the utec installed pnp without any problem (05-06 Altimas has the same ecu as the 04 350z), thats why I didn't think about Osiris + It has been said the OEM ecu if it's reflashed or programmed it will return to its origin parameters after some time
so programming the stock ecu is not efficient!

Thank you

This is simply not true - Osiris has control over stock functioning and can reset learning targets so that the ECU learns in the direction you need it to. Programming the stock ECU is VERY efficient and will result in much better results than the UTEC. There is no longer a market for the UTEC once Osiris v2.0 is released. Well, unless the UTEC price drops below $500 - then maybe... Even then, Osiris comes with Cipher, which is outstanding for diagnostics and logging so worth the few extra hundred bucks.

(In regards to the Haltech, yes it can read wheel spin through the CAN bus and alter boost and timing. Very nice. )

That is kinda neato, using technology to their advantage.

Save and get a Haltech you wont be sorry... You get what you pay for. I have emailed turboxs everyday this week about updating the utec software and no replies. But I will burn up there email till I get a answer. And I have checked into Osiris it sounds almost to good to be true and would like some guys on here running some boost like 10psi or so, to chime in and let us know whats up. And how they like it. The utec is great for getting the job done but it has it's flaws just like all software, BUT they need to address these problems instead of selling a halfazz product.... If uprev would start a thread of all there happy boosted customers That would be great and we can have there experiences instead of uprev reps. Not trying to hate on uprev so please don't take this the wrong way UPREV just want to see from others how they like it....

I want to wait on our commercially available products to be ready instead of having just our Beta and Pro Tuner guys posting. Our Retail Osiris Tuner package will be up and running soon.

You'll start hearing from shops like Forged Performance, Intech Racing, Henson Performance, GT Motorsports, and the rest of our shops soon also.

We're able to support it through the Pro Tuners or us directly currently, but the retail product will be up next week. And we just had a 16psi JWT TT car leave 2 weeks ago, so we're capable.

No I understand. Thats the reason I pushed for the update on the website, so that once we get it all running right I'll be able to post more info on stuff like this. It would be nice to have a place that our customers can give honest opinions about our products in one place rather than on 40 different forums.

none of the ecu's listed are standalones - the full standalones for these cars are about 4 times the budget overall

at this point, you're not going to see utec software updates anytime soon...they simply have other priorities they are working on. In the hands of the right tuner, with the right setup, it works great. At the same time, if your goal is running massive boost levels with very large injectors, then the utec is not the right tool for that job

^^ +1. There are a number of cars running this unit in my area with great results. I have the Utec now and I am strongly considering this.
