750 miles, 150 on the dyno. No big deal, doing what I can to help the community.

Car is at the body shop for a couple of months so we got time to play.

Don't want to spoil the surprise.

I took a look at this block today. It appears to be MUCH stronger at the bottom, as you can kind of see in the pics.

this engine is setup just like the vk45de everything from cam sensors, cooling, even the fuel rails the only difference is that after the fuel travels across the other side it has a return line

Sharif....2 questions...

1) Is the fuel system the same with no return line to the tank?
2) How do the rods and pistons look....thicker rods and ringlands?

Still a returnless fuel system, but the rail is fed from the front.....but still the good'ol returnless system

Causual inspection of the rods (we havent disassembled the rotating assembly...yet) indicates they look very similar to last year's rods. We can only hope they are stronger. The piston tops and sides are not visible for now.

But holy mother.....the block and integrated mains/girdle are MUCH stronger and more ridge. It makes the VQ35DE look like its missing some parts or something.

The external slave cylinder is gone, as is the entire clutch fork..yippie. I think our clutch pedal engagement issues are over and done with.
Internal slave cylinder, with direct actuation of the TO bearing...very nice!

damn... with that in mind, perhaps sleeving the block would be unnecessary for mid to high forced induction power levels.

good looking out, sharif.

Forgive me for not reading the entire thread, but I have one question after reading the first post. You said he made 265whp and that was a 17hp gain? I am just slightly confused because my stock 07 was dynoed on friday and made 266.9whp on what most have said is a very tough dyno to make good numbers on.

We use a DynoDynamics dyno, and we not use any additional Dynojet corrections, to pump up the number. 06's baseline at about 215whp on our dyno, since it reads very low.

Unfortunately, dyno comparisons are fraught with error, so we dont even try it. We did the before dyno, and the after dyno...and that is the gain we posted.

cool, gotcha. I figured that was the case, just thought I would check. Plus, this was my first dyno on any of my cars ever, so part of me just wanted a chance to bring that up
