Well, I had been waiting on doing the recall cause I considered changing out the clutch and flywheel. Dealership said about 2 hours extra (uncovered) svc charge to do that, but that I would not have to pay for all the service time (obviously) since they would already be dropping the tranny.

Then Tuesday I took off normally from a light, and when shifting to 2nd, the clutch stayed down and never came up.

Had to be towed to dealership (covered by my auto ins) and they had to order the parts. They got it done in 2 days and gave me a loaner. He said they thoroughly inspected the clutch and it was 85% (I'm at 14K miles). I decided to not aftermarket upgrade the clutch since I think I'll be changing the car out shortly for something a little more sporty.

Clutch feels good after the repair, same exact feel as brand new stiffness wise. Shifts are smoother.

So my VIN fell within the numbers specified, but the rep I spoke to on the phone (who was very courteous) repeatedly assured me that my car was okay. He gave me the file number, and his name- but I'm not sure exactly what I should do now.

Nothing feels wrong in my car- but I really don't want to be stranded on the highway some day. Oh well, I guess I'll call back a couple times next week, see if I get different reps, and see what they say. My VIN is: M501119.

edit: jesus christ, you launch at 35k???

Hmmmmm my 2008 Base did this at the track last night. But then it was fine after like two seconds. Do we know for sure if this problem was resolved in the 2008 production?

I called on mine. Nissan says that my car does not have the recall. I have not received any letter either. I bought mine in Dec. 2007 #506981

Just had the recall done on my car yesterday. Dropped off at 8am and was done by noon.

Found out about the recall on this forum. Thanks!!!

I had no issues with the old clutch and i was hoping that everything stayed at least as good as it was because I liked it before the work. I was a bit nervous about tearing into a 7000mile new car but I didnt want to get stuck so I went for it.

Well everything seems just as nice as before so I'm happy. I think the new slave is slightly harder to push and it seems to me to be smoother. What i mean about smoother is that instead of say a 2 inch peddle movement from just starting to catch to full on...its now like 3 or 4 inches...meaning that its easier to be smooth and not as touchy. Same height of the peddle throw but just a little less on/off feeling that the other one had if that makes sence.

Anyways so far so good...only thing dealer did was put the car through the car wash and that bent my front licence plate...Man i hated that thing before and now its worse hahaahahah

Ok, this is odd. I was one of the first people to report the Clutch getting stuck issue. I had them look at it two times and they said there was nothing wrong with it, the third time they said they have to replace the whole clutch assembly. Saturday I was driving home from driving my girlfriend to work, after about 30 mins of driving I noticed my clutch started to stick. I got it into my garage and my car stalled because as I start to let out the clutch it just shot up. I was like WTF, not again. I went to look in the engine bay and there clutch fluid was just above min. I put in some brake fluid, and went up stairs, came back down and there was no fluid at all, I looked under my car and there it was on my garage floor. So I put some more in and this time it just pored right down, this sucks.

This is the fourth time, is this a lemon?

^Ugh... dealership call time, looks like you can reproduce that

So I noticed my car bogging/hesitating today. I'm pissed off. I called Nissan USA, they say there's no recalls etc., so I called my dealership afterwards, and they said they'd look at it tomorrow at 1 PM. I want a new god damn clutch, even if it's not the problem. My VIN falls in the range.

Default got mine done

I had no issues, but had mine replaced. I think pedal feel is actually different(better). I think my Mazdaspeed6 had this exact recall last year. Mazda in honolulu were asses about it, but nissan was much better to deal with for my 350.

i noticed that the recall is on the slave cylinder but i see that some of you have your transmissions replaced as well, and like that too why not its free!

but i have the 2007 m506305 with 10,000 miles on it, what do i do for them to replace the tranny too, ive always noticed a clicking sound in my clutch, and when im in neutral and the clutch disengaged it sounds like its rattling untill i push the clutch back in.. i baby my car ive done my oil change every 1500 miles with synthetic oil and i shift and drive and proper times. maybe im just too paranoid?

anyway i want some free stuff!

Go find a place where you can have fun with your car(not endangering anybody's life) and 3A card, pushed the gas all the way down(pedal to the metal), let the clutch go.If your clutch doesnot come back, go tell them to change it under warranty. Its a sports car, suppose to run like one. That is how i tested mine, i didnt like it and then find out about the recall, and it fell under it.15000mi later the new one runs great.Overall 07model clutch=nothing to be proud of.

5000 miles after the recall was taken care of, it went completely out. The car left me stranded. My clutch pedal disappeared. Have to tow the car now. It sucks
