you know that the z1 elimination kit recommends adjustment around every oil change right.... that is one reason i didn't go with them

I don't mind that so much. I typically do oil changes every 10k. I'd rather adjust it than have to pull a tranny due to a failed CSC.

I've never been a fan of the CSC, especially with all the grief this one has given me. I'll take maintenance over potential tranny pulling any day.

i get it. when mine went out the first time ( 6 weeks after buying the car ) i threw a fit at the dealership, they replaced it with oem..... 6 months later it went out again and that is when i put in the zspeed hd one, two and half years later no issues

That is awesome. I wish I could have gotten the dealer to replace mine. They just jerked me around. I was originally leaning towards the Zspeed unit but ultimately decided I would feel better with an external unit.

Hit 153K miles this weekend. Took the car to Tail of the Dragon. Did 500+ miles of hard driving on the Dragon, Moonshiners 28 and the Cherohala Skyway from Friday to Sunday. The factory clutch is still holding strong! My friends are convinced it is indestructible lol

My HR has just eaten its OEM clutch at 107k kms (I live in a metric country), mostly due to the GTM TT kit I installed some 10k kms ago. I have an ACS stage 3 on order as replacement...

AFAIK it's still on it's orignal CSC too - it's never been to a dealership since I bought it because I do all my own maintenance. And that's been limited to tyres, brake pads, filters and fluids up to now.

No other hassles whatsoever

Welp I'm out of the HR game. A little over 154K miles on the factory clutch and then Bambi decided to take the Z out. Over 10K in damages... I never did get to install the Z1 clutch kit and concentric slave elimination kit. Guess I'll be posting a for sale add here in couple days.

Awesome, sounds like these puppies hold up great! I just purchased an 08 HR 6MT Base. Man I love this car I cannot believe they're so inexpensive. I searched for months for the "perfect car". I've driven everything as well. I picked this over the 370z as well. Not just for looks for but it feels better imo.

Anyhow, mine has 55k and I am the 3rd owner. I think it may need a clutch. Engagement is really high and it smells after just a few corners going up a mountain.

Z always engage high, if its engaging low there is a problem coming.

I'm now at 149K, will be paid off in 6 months, will be keeping her as I slowly start to replace parts and components and will try and go another 150K.I've already stared talking to my shop regarding what we are going to start replacing this fall.I am not in the mood for a new payment and paying for upkeep is better than a mandatory monthly car payment. Paint, interior, and body have held up well.

Only issue with Z is my gas mileage is dropping, almost time for service, last was at 120K.May have to start replacing coils, plugs were changed out at 120K as well as new gaskets on VC and tube seals.

Keep them rolling yall...

I think I'm going to have to go with the external route cause I can't bare dropping the trans again. ***** routes are expensive but I need to figure out what clutch I want first

That's what i was thinking, then the flywheel choice, then aftermarket CSC or external. It's a never ending battle

what fluid you want to fill the trans with yada yada

clutch and flywheel - south bend
csc (if hr) - zspeed, can't change to external
fluid - redline

Yes it's a HR so it seems so much choices. I hear people not liking redline and i like how smooth the trans is now.

If i try to launch from first the RPMS shoot up and if i hit second the same problem. I noticed the clutch pedal not coming up after letting out the clutch. So I'm assuming that's the common CSC problem with HRs. I can be in 5th or 6th and punch it with no slip so I'm guessing the CSC is my problem. I'm new here as we can tel. I've wanted a Z since 2003 and finally got my favorite year; 2007 HR
