My car's been acting up..
1. Weird idling problem. Idle was radiating from about 900-1200 rpms up and down. I reset the ECU and it stays at normal rpm's now (600rpms or so) But now every couple seconds when Im at a stop in neutral, it sounds as if the car is about to stall, the rpm will drop too low and then go back up to normal and then repeat itself, f*cking weird I tell ya'.
2. This problem started happening tonight: Engine makes a loud clanking noise right when I start up the engine. Like something is hitting something. It's only when I start the engine and it does it only once right when the engine is turning on. I turned on and off my engine a crap load of times, but that didnt fix anything. lol My friend says it's my starter, but if its my starter, how come it started doing it recently? But it did start happening recently after I got my flywheel & clutch installed. I'm going to go back and have them look at it, hopefully they installed something wrong.
Here's a vid.
Listen carefully since its recorded with a crappy camera phone.. You can hear the loud click noise right before the engine gets gas

Got my Z in late March 2007. I commute 68 miles each way, 2 or 3 days a week. Nearly all miles on freeway (680/280 in Bay Area). Car now (12/08) has 40K on it.
Mileage is great - >27 MPG if I keep my foot out of it and under 75.
In first 3 months, 4 trips to dealership:
1 - Drivers-side window insane (would go up, then 1/2 down and stay there)
1 - Bad fuel air sensor (replaced), which caused:
1 - Cat bank 1 to be replaced, and a week later
1 - Cat bank 2 to be replaced
Since then, it has been in for the clutch slave cylinder recall.
The gas gauge is poorly calibrated - it shows empty and takes a max if 16.5 gallons.
A strange hissing noise has started when backing down in 6th gear thru about 2500 RPM - this since 30k maintenance at dealership.
It is, in all, a great daily driver. And has proved very reliable. The stiff ride took a bit of getting used to (shook some kidney stones loose), but it is fun to drive, even in traffic. And it looks soooo good.
Z is: 2007, Grand Touring, San Marino blue, 6 speed manual gearbox, NISMO Catback exhaust, clear bra

You can just run it with the light on. I think the most I've filled up with is about 19.1 gallons, but I don't recommend it.

i thought i was bad with 16k a year
btw is your car creaking or starting to feel aged? Or has it been holding up pretty well? (45k is nothing in the long scheme of things, but usually is enough to start hearing creaks)

I'm sitting at just over 14K right now. When I bought the car in back in Sept it had 8K on the clock. So I've done over 6K in 3 months at this rate I'll be racking some miles up.

I picked mine up in Feb. 07.
I had the slave replaced once before the recall, and once after the recall, with the updated slave.
I've had issues with the recall slave, at the drag strip. Last month I pumped the clutch while the slave cover was off, after adding some fluid. I noticed a dark substance come into the filler, along with very small air bubbles, working towards the top. After doing this, I haven't observed a problem during a heavy load.
Other than that, and the passenger window sometimes going up on auto, then coming back down partially, the car has been very reliable. When this happens, I just tap the window button up a few times, then hold it, and it goes up all the way. It's an intermittent issue.
I am about to turn over 51K, and will about a mile down the road tomorrow.
