I've been to the dealer twice about it. The first time they replaced the sending unit... still reads low. The second time (different dealer) they hooked a manual pressure gauge to it and said it read 12 psi (and that sock was supposed to be 14 psi). They said they wouldn't do anything else because I was not running OEM spec oil or filter (I use the bigger Mobil filter). So unless it's the filter, the GC makes me lose 2 psi? Anyways.. that's not a huge difference.
The dumbest part is that our factory cars are supposed to idle at 14 psi but our gauges translate that to about 30!..? Well at least most of our gauges. -.-
I am pretty sure that when I was on Mobil 1 5W30 my gauge read the norm.. so I plan on switching to something else my next oil change. I don't think it's hurting anything (the GC), but it makes me feel uneasy whenever I look at the gauge.
BTW here are my oil gauge readings:
cold start - 50
after rpms drop at cold start - 25
warm idle - 7
cruising - 30-45
hard acceleration - 60-90

And when I switched to GC 0W-30 with M1 oil filter, the oil pressure is reading actually like yours.
I'm going to switch to M1 0w-40 oil next oil change with M1 oil filter and see what will happen.

Hi
I live in Kuwait the temp in summer From 102 f up to 122 in the morning so i lost my owners manual and I downloaded the us spesc it says that I should use 5w30 but the dealer here in Kuwait use 20w50 I have 2008 350z hr so I bouth pennzoil 5w30 I'ts kind of expensive 6.25 $ per litre anyway I noticed that when I stop the car the pressure goes below 30 psi so I freaked out and bought the 20w50 pennzoil after driving 650 miles on the 5w30*
so I'm confused what grade shoud I use I know that the dealer here don't understand anything even the Manager says he don't know and they use 20w50 for all cars all year round (armada -350z-altima-maxima...)*
so plz help*
weather in summer Nights 102 F in the morning up to 122 f
in winter From 45 F up to 85 F
