Default Dealer run around?

I took my '08 Nismo to the the dealer because i was getting a pretty loud rattling noise when the clutch is engaged, weird thing is when when i disengaged the clutch its completely silent. after keeping it for two days they tell me they looked it over and that the noise is normal because its a nismo. This doesn't seem normal. Its noticeably loud the other day i pulled up next to a friend and held the clutch pedal down when i talked because it was echoing against his car. i only have about 30 days left on my factory warranty if you think that might have something to do with it.

Best togo to a couple dealers! I complained about noise from my rear axle on my new frontier since practically new. My dealership ignored it repeatedly! They also ignored that the turn signal wouldn't shut off after completing left turns...!

I went to another dealer. They replaced my turn signal lever and had to replace one rear axle and carrier bearing! Never believe you stealership! Go with your gut instinct... Try another shop and push the issue till they take notice and listen... When you find a good dealership, continue to do business with them. I am done with my dealership after buying 4 nissans with them in 3 years. You think they would have taken better care of me.. Now I will shop else where's!!!!!!!!!!

I just dealt with dealership run around for the last 2 months. I went to 3 different dealerships before I got one that seemed like they were willing to work with me. Even then it took 5 visits and multiple conversations with the service manager, general tech and shop formen. It seems like nissan in general is a bit hard to deal with. Just find a dealership that seems reasonable and push your problem until they fix it. Do u still have your drivetrain warranty? If so, there's no reason for them not to fix it. I needed a new slave cylinder and they kept telling me that I needed a clutch and that wasn't covered. I persisted and persisted and they eventually gave me a new clutch and slave at no cost. Just keep bein a pain and you'll get your way. Remember, the customer is always right.

what you are describing is "clutch rattle," and it is completely normal on 350Zs. search for it on the forums, many threads on it.

there also may be a recall on your slave cylinder depending on your VIN, but that has nothing to do with the rattling you hear.

If the clutch did NOT rattle last month, and does rattle this month then something is wrong obviously.

BTW when you disengage the clutch it is silent because no parts are moving.

Clutch/flywheel rattle is very common and almost expected with the HR. U really only need to be concerned if I randomly started chattering. I have the same noise. It doesn't seem like its as bad as yours but I can def hear it. One of my buddies has had his 08 since new and he's had the noise since day one. Not really something to worry about unless its unbearable.

Chatter from this clutch is normal. I agree with Davidv though. If it sounds different than before, then something's up. Otherwise, everyone with a manual Z experiences it to some degree. I agree, it didn't sound normal when I bought the car, in comparison to all my other manaul trans vehicles I own/owned. I think a good way to tell is to post a vid up in here and see what people think, if you're that concerned.

Well I should be installing my new exhaust tomorrow and will be taking video of the new sound so I will get some footage of the chatter. But from your experiences it seems to be normal.
