275 on an OEM is unnecessary IMO and most will tell you the same

 

I loved my stock 08 wheels as well with the minimal 5 spoke design.. it's the factory offsets that killed me. What I would suggest is running spacers after reading through this https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-...er-thread.html to reduce the fender gap and not run 275 honestly too wide for a 8.5", I wouldn't go past 265 at the most. If you're worried about gripping in corners you need to look at what the tires are made of and for as well... Sumitomo HTRIII's are a great affordable tire and Hankook RS3's are a more expensive but quality tire for spirited daily-driving and track days. I've seen plenty of members on here that make the 07-08 wheels look great with their Z's, good luck

 

Thank you, Yeah that is also what i was thinking in regards to the wheel width as well. I just read on here that it was the perfect offset size but i was doubtful it meant for the stock 18's.

I am just about ready for some new rear tires. Been having a little too much fun finding the limits to this car. but ya I am investing in suspension first, I didn't want to just look pretty. I wont go into detail about that here though don't want to up set anyone for posting noob questions.. especially in the wrong spot that's probably subject to a banning. I have to go over there for my questions to be scoffed at and not answered...

 

Biggest gains on this car are actually traction. The tiny wheels do not let you get a tire wide enough for the heavy pig. Suspension, it's actually really good and most people install stuff that does not help.

Stock wheels, been mentioned time and time again 245/40 front and 255/40 rear, bigger that the sidewall gets really floppy, wider wheels are really needed.

 

yeah I was I between 255 and 265. I think I'll just do the 255 till I find a decent set of wheels.

I have read about a lot of the suspension stuff that doesn't help anything. I'm just about to start my supennsion work I was going to start with the hotchkis sway bars. What have you found to be the best place to start? Coilovers?

Because i'm an idiot and I dont understand the rims and tires, I'm posting here to ask the community before i go out and spent $2K. Will the following work on my stock height 2007 350z?

Front: 18x8.5 +30 rims, 265/35 tires
Rear: 18x9.5 +15 rims, 285/35 tires

The site also has the 265s in 40, should I get those? Is there a difference? I want to mate the Enkei RPf1 rims to Michelin Super Sports and go zoom zoom.

 

2k for those specs I would look into another set of wheels. With at least +12 offset. But to answer your question, yes they will fit but will look terrible and tucked.

 

Run 18x9.5 and 10.5 +15 with those tires and you're golden. Common question for a VERY common setup

I've got an '08 with Nismo (OEM, not S-Tune) suspension, so ride height is basically stock, alignment is to stock specs, and I'd like to keep the speedo accurate. What size tires should I be looking for? Thanks in advance.

 

If you want to keep your speedometer accurate:

255/40/18
275/40/18

I want to get the Michelin Super Sports, but they dont seem to offer a 275/40/18, but they do offer a 275/35/18. If the rear rims are 18x10.5 +15, will the 35radial work? Will it look funny?

They do offer a 286/35-18 rear, that would be a great choice for the rear. Then I'm just guessing but I would say you went with a 9.5 +15 front wheel, if so, there is a 265/35-18 offered. This will be a great combo.

Not every company makes the perfect size for our needs. The combo I mention above would be my common 1 step above the average daily driving 255/275 combo.

 

265/285/35 is just fine for me, but would I need spacers? I am trying to read the spacer threads but they get complicated real quick and I don't understand how my new rims at +15 will be sitting just as flush as my old rims did at +33. Is this because the new rims are wider, thus the offset isnt needed as much?

Search in google for offset calc, plug in the numbers and play with it. It will help you understand.

 

Im looking at changing up my tires pretty soon, the fk452's are worn badly on the front.

Current specs are:
Tanabe GF210's
Spring mount pad on the rears
18x10.5 +20 front
18x10.5 +5 rear
265/35/18 all around

Total drop on the rear is about 1.8"

Im looking for a meatier setup on the rear's but wanting to retain the size/look of the front's.

I was hoping to reduce the underdrive from the rear combo as well.

What would work well witha 265/35 front?

Terra i know you suggested 275/35 front and 275/40 rear but i was looking at going with a 285 or 295 for the rears.

Would a 285/35/18 work decent with a 265/35/18 front?

The car is very neutral right now and i would like to keep the driving feel as close as possible to how it drives now.
