What kind of tires should I buy
I have a Silver Touring Z with 18" wheels. My front tires are badly worn and I need to replace just the two front tires(the back ones are fine). Any suggestions about what tires are the best for a 350 Z?
The guy at the tire store told me that I wouldn't get much mileage off of any tires (expensive or not) so I was wondering if it was even worth it to buy really expensive tires if they would wear out almost as quickly as cheaper ones. The tire guy did mention, though, that I should post here and ask yall which tire would give me the best ride.

+1 on the Brickyard Rats comments.
I am running F1 Eagles. Tires are the only thing between you and the road. Don't mix brands if can avoid it at all.
Asking which brand tires though, is like asking someone if they prefer blonde or brunettes or redheads!

I just got some Goodyear F1 GSD3s 255/40ZR18 and 275/40ZR18, and they are sweet! If I wear these out too quickly, I'll probably go with Toyo T1Rs to save money, but if they last me 2 years or more, I'll probably buy them (or the equivalent) again.

Thank you --especially david
Thanks all for the great advice. i didn't realize mixing brands would matter. i have bfg's on the front right now. i'm getting a lot of road noise. i would prefer a tire that doesn't emit much road noise because mine are really loud right now (i think the wear may have something to do with it).
i like the sound of the one comment about getting all four tires for 800 bucks. that's the kind of deal i'm looking for. i was thinking i would have to pay 6 or 700 for just two in the front.

i'm curious about the mixing tires. what is bad about mixing tires. i've been talking to people about it and they don't have any answers. is there a reason why you shouldn't mix?? do they wear more? or is it just that you are driving with two different brands.

I like my bfgs, I had t1rs on my stock rims and I am still less than impressed with the sidewall in the toyo tires. Once you get used to the little tread squirm you get with the bfgs they are a great tire. They are a little noisy, but we drive z's, not a Cadillac. I'd rather have a stiffer sidewall and more noise, then less noisy and a sloppier sidewall.

well put. i agree. Personally, I was digging the noise, but everyone who was riding with me kept complaining and saying that they thought it was unusually loud. My only complaint with the noise is that it drowns out my stereo sometimes. I feel like the sound system isn't bad, but the noise is taking out some of my mid frequencies....I'm prolly just being too picky.
