Default electric humming / buzzing sound help!

A week ago i got in the car, turned it on, and could a hear a humming buzzing sound somehwere from the trunk of the car...like an electric current..sometimes steady , sometimes intermittent or going higher and lower...no specific loop...
i searched everywhere and i cant seem to find where it was coming from....
i turned of the AC, the radio the lights...and it was still there...i even shift gears while not moving with the clutch down to see , again still there...if i just turn the ignition key half way...then nothing..
only when the engine starts....

now i got out of the car and listend down under the car...from the back..and its like i can hear it slightly..but could not make out the noise due to the exhaust and engine sound...

pls help...

i know telling the dealer about this would make them laff or just say they could not find anything wrong...

Are you sure its not the fuel pump; it is directly behind the driver seat inside that plastic cover or inside with sub if you have one. I and can normally hear mine humming away.

Pull out the sub or that plastic piece if you dont have a sub. There already is some foam sound deadner on top of the pump cover but am sure there something better that will reduce the noise. I can only hear mine in idle doesnt really bother me, In fact I forgot all about it til now, cause of you its going to drive me crazy now I have had a few passangers ask what that noise was, I tell to get out, if there going to complain always ends that discussion

I hear the same thing. It sounds like a bee is buzzing. But the sound is not constant, it buzzes then stops then goes again. Can this be the fuel pump? The sound is very faint. At first i thought it was the stereo.

I read in the UK forums that it's the way the speakers are connected, they always a have a current running through them so you should always here a slight humming.

I have the same noise and mine sounds like its coming from the speakers, not behind that plastic piece. I thought I was the only one. It just doesn't seem right though. You shouldn't hear any speakers unless you have the radio on.

how odd, many people have this problem. Is there someone with aftermarket speakers, or even aftermarket radio, which still has the same problem?

I have an after market Nav system. Pioneer AVIC D1 and it cut out the speaker hum. As for the fuel pump if you do not have a sub back there you can put a better sound dampening material around it. Kind of like holding a pillow over your gf’s face while having sex at her parent’s house... works every time!
