I've just read this whole thread...maybe my parents will buy me a new Z as a reward.

Oh wait, I made it all the way through high school and college and didn't even have a car. Yet I had a job through both. My reward? Bought a nicer house than my parents have and a Z and a Rolex and a pretty little diamond ring for my fiance and new furniture etc...

Bottom line: If you guys get out of college and buy porsche's and Z's or whatever it is...you're morons. Why don't you just throw a hundred dollar bill out the window everyday. Why don't you invest your money instead. Buying a brand new car out of college is a great way to start off being debt free. Unless you go to UVA and start off at 6 figures. By the way I'm 28, so I'm not old. And yes I paid cash for everything cept the house.

ha not locked just yet , i just wanted to throw in here one last time that this is a bs sattement because kids is too general a 17 year old could easily drive better then a 50 or 60 year old and hell he could driver better then a 30 year old if he went thru proper driving courses ( like bmw offers a driving course and there's others for defensive driving and even agressive driving.) im just saying dont get pissed just be happy we can all talk and enjoy our cars. If some kid gets lucky enough to get a z from his parents then lets just hope he understands how lucky he is and doesnt take it for granted.

Must be nice to live on :

Where I live (in an upscale neighborhood)..17 year olds are irresponsible little ****** who respect NO ONE and cause plenty of motor vehicle fatalities

IMHO...They ALL need to have Super LOW HP 3 or 4 cylinder Kia Rio's or Hyundai Accent's with AT....LESS ABILITY TO MAKE SPEED = LESS LIKLIHOOD FOR A MAJOR TRAFFIC FATALITY!

If this was at a public school then that is no accomplishment at all. Sorry, but I wouldn't brag about that unless of course you are now in a great college and getting high marks.

The only reason why people had to work so hard to buy the z is because their parents couldnt afford to buy them a car. If parents are willing to help their kids why not? My parents bought me my first car. The 2nd(RX8) and 3rd(350z) was more like half n half because they paid my bills, insurance and I paid for the car payment.

Its cool to brag about them buying your 1st car, but bragging that they have purchased 3 cars down the line for you just makes you look like a bum.

I have no problems with 17 yr olds owning Z's.

I have no problems if their parents bought it for them.

I have problems paying for higher insurance premiums caused by irresponsible drivers.
