I have driven bothand have a ZR. We are now possibly going to delete some of our cars and pick up the 8 or the G to go with the ZR and rlement. When I first tried the G (I hadn't driven a Z yet) it felt very good) I then drove the 8 and there was a difference in power but the handling on the 8 was to be simplistic better. Since I am not really a drag type of driver, I was leaning to the 8. Life, job, woman all changed at that point and what I could get opened up a bit so I started looking ar 2 seaters. I then drove a TT vert, S2K, a Z coupe and a little later the ZR. I will tell you flat out there is a different feel in the Z compared to the G and the rest. Matter of fact I have never shopped for a car before where all the characters had so different a personality. I think that's a good thing by the way because it means there is a car for every style. Having said that, there is no car that I feel I could get through a curvy stretch of mountain passes and curvy road faster than my ZR except a Z coupe, and even that does not give me the grin of a ZR. I am not sure thre is a real better because most of these cars at this level are pretty close. It truly is a case of what you like. I feel lucky to be able to drive at a time where so many options are avai;able. Just about every manufacturer has a weapon. Choose yours.

Oh by the way, there is a good reason that so many forums measure us. The Z is that good. The same reason we measure others as well. The more your competitors talk abou you is a signal of how good you are. Just like we talk about the Boxters, Evos, STIs, Mustangs. They may not be the car we chose for whatever reasons, but definitely on our scopes.

Do you really belive that a difference of $50/mo. would break people's pockets if they are already capable of purchasing a $30k car? Don't be such a snob, the g is far from being an "elite" car...
Exactly. Additionally, the Z's typically have higher insurance rates which more than bridge that $50 gap. I have a Track Z with DVD Nav, the extra set of air-bags and all the goodies (every factory and dealer installed option available). I could have had a G for a lot cheaper.

Trust me; cost is not an issue. As everyone keeps saying, it is all about preference. We are not all looking for the same things out of our cars.

Besides that, the Z is a "cult car" in America with a devoted following of Z-lovers. Most of us would have bought the Z even if it was more expensive AND heavier and didn't have air conditioning: It's a Z-car!

No one knows what a "G-car" really is, but we are quite sure that it is not part of the female anatomy.

I bought a used 04 G35 automatic. Owned it for approx. 1.5 month. Drove my freinds 05 350 and fell in love. I went out last wednesdcay and bough a 07 350 touring in le mans blue. So far I've added 20' axis shine wheels and the eibach pro kit. Car handles and outpowers the G. Other than missing the sunroof and the little "luxury" options such as dual climate control and 8 way power seat, etc, I have no regrets in the change

I own a 350Z & have regularly driven my friends G35C. IMO both cars are great & handle well. My friends G is modded, suspension, FI & other handling goodies. It drives every bit as good as my Z. I can't hate on either model. As far as looks go; They both have their pluses that make them stand solidly on their own ground.

My 2C.

Well The 350Z is a true sports car, built pretty much soley for that reason, the G35C is a luxury version of that, built for daily drivng, so were one G35 is better for the DD the Z is better for the Track driver and therefore has the better handling.

But hey we all know the RSX's are better than both so who cares.

[QUOTE=
Also, you say that the Z weighs "only" 150 lbs. less but 150 extra pounds is still a pretty significant difference. Just ask any race car team.[/QUOTE]

ask any racer, any REAL racer....
