Nice, after losing my Porsche Panamera in an electrical fire, I been and still am figuring out what vehicle to be my next daily. The C6 Corvette has been on my mind along with a few other options. I can't drive this Z everyday.
Over the weekend, I picked up a 2-way KAZZ LSD with a 3.69 final drive, pressed and ready to be dropped in. Not pictured, also have the Z1 Extra Large Diff cover, Z1 Poly Bushings to go with it.
Also replaced all the door hinges to the GTR hinges. I also had to replace the driver side door which I'll share more info into my own build thread.
C6's are great. Base through grand sport keep eye on harmonic balancer, c6z have head issues if nit addressed can drop an exhaust valve a trash the block which if you can find one new they were about 15k. C7's have torque tube issues and to replace you have to drop the entire rear subframe
My old c6z was at 503 whp, my current c7 is at 533whp . C7 is a better driving car, c6z was raw but very dated interior

I have to agree with the C6 dated interior, but in my honest opinion... the C6 is a better looking car. Yes I do see some can be had under the 20K range. Though I don't see long term-ownership as it's not as practical as it was my Panamera. It just seems like a good chance to drive one for a year or two for not so much money compared to a Taycan that I'm eyeing right now. (and Taycan are still dropping in price so I'm holding off for the rock-bottom prices.) C6 are already rock-bottom and feel like I can sell it for the same price. Glad to hear your thoughts on the matter, so I'll keep an eye on the harmonic balancer.
Off work for a few days so I’ll take the chance to tackle a weekend project.
I’m excited for the 2-way KAZZ, Stanceparts Aircups, and how everything will come together. More info and information on my build thread and future mods.
Just replaced the belt to a Z1 belt when posting this.
Placed an order for the rollcage with Studio-RSR.
Talks about the Powerhouse Amuse full kit is in the talks with few shops now.
I picked up a set of Z33 Nismo springs (front and rear) yesterday - they're take-offs with 30k miles. I'll be using these for the suspension on my '03 project (engine replacement pending). If I don't find decent corresponding Nismo shocks, then I'll use Bilstein B6's, instead. I have the Nismo shocks and springs on my '05 and really like the combination of performance, feel, and road comfort, so I want to match that on this project '03.

Yo that Z is getting some goodies put in. Good stuff man
Today I drove my Z out to lunch.. I noticed the cruise controls don't work. that leads me to think two things... 1) the car has ben previously tuned... or 2) they just don't work lol.. I am in talking with Z1 Motorsports trying to figure out if I need a tune or not. That would put me in the LEVEL 2 block for tuning .. ehhh we shall see cant make up my mind.

I have a tune and my CC works. It shouldn't affect that.
Does the CRUISE light come on in the dash and it won't set or no lights at all?
Check your pedal switches, make sure the bump stops are intact on both the clutch and brake pedals. Also make sure the switches are adjusted properly to make contact when the pedals are released. When you try to "set" the cruise speed, does the "set" light in the cluster rapidly blink briefly?
A tune could cause cruise to stop working. This recently happened to me, where the cruise stopped working after an Uprev reflash + tune. In short, in newer versions of Uprev's software, there's an option for AT -> MT swaps and somehow that was checked when the reflash was done. This broke my cruise control. Another side effect was that the Z would only start with the car in neutral with the clutch pedal held down. Normally you can start a 6MT in gear so long as the clutch pedal is held in. When I tried to "set" the cruise speed, the light in the cluster would rapidly blink for 1-2 seconds, which is just a basic indicator that there's a problem. If you're not seeing this, perhaps your cruise control switches on the wheel are broken or you have a clock spring issue. There might be a way to tell if the switches are good by hooking up an advanced OBDII tool.
Did you swap ECUs or have a Tune done recently? I remember you were doing an engine swap among other things not long ago.
Cheers!

In fairness, I don’t think I’ll end up running the endlinks. Might end up getting SPL endlinks. Else is fine personally, specifically steering solid bushings, and subframe collar. My bell work diff brace won’t work with the Z1 diff cover. So I need something to go with that.
So I hit a wall with the BDE billet motor mounts. I have removed both lower nuts on the original OEM mounts on the Z, but am struggling to get the upper two nuts off. I can see the driver’s side nut but no success so far. May have to route it to a shop, unless someone has suggestions. Looking around.
I know ya hate Z1 with a passion, but from what I use from them...
1. Engine mounts.. I dont see much of a difference between solid mounts between brands.
2. Subframe collars.. I'd assume better than the plastic GKtech versions. Trying to have SOME slack somewhere with all the solid bushings.
3. Diff Brace.. After looking at multiple, I liked how theres was aluminum, fit a larger cover w.o issue, and had a jacking point.
4. Coolant hoses.. Pretty much the same as other brands.
5. Shift **** collar.. Barely scratches and has held up nicely with the 300 times its been off.
6. Oil cap... I kept having issues with leaking oil caps, even the oem one. I like the replaceable seal and bought an extra for the future too. It seals without issue.
7. Pulley Kit.. It seems the most complete + trusted.. Guess u could go AMS instead.
8. Strut bar... Sits in front of the plenum, allowing a larger plenun, kinda hard to find one like tht now.
9. Trans mount.. No isues so far with it.
10. Oil an spacer.. No issues with it.. Back when it came out, it was nice it had the pick up extender unlike many others.
11. Stainless brake lines... Pretty much the same as most...
Jesus.. I didnt think I had so much of their **** lmao... I plan on getting their coilpacks (better than oem, cheap), solid rack bushings (why not :P), subframe brace (13lbs lighter), and more than likely their spacers + wheel studs.
I will say I disliked their suspension parts compared to other companies. No idea if they changed since.

Maybe I am a Z1 fanboy n never noticed ?...
The collars and brace, I'd agree, but the Brace is a copy of Torque Solution.
Be careful with the studs, they've been reported to snap off.
Dark, I have a box full of Z1 stickers. Figured I’d ask if you want some for your Z.
