+1. The white was too light. I didn't even bother reading it.
^^Tr00f. I still remember all the bull$hit I said when I was a kid (15-early 20's), trying to impress people. Lol. Been there, done that. Anything a young buck falsely says and thinks it's believable, I've been there, done that. We've all been that age. It's not like our brain loses it's capability to erase memories. It's not like, because it's a different decade, there's a entire new generation of kids that don't think and do the stupid $hit we use to. Fashion changes, inflation changes, fads change.....but the human mind doesn't.
Funny story I've got to share now that we're on the topic. I met this 23-year-old grad student a few months ago who was in Houston for an internship. We dated for a few months before she went back to her home state. Wonderful girl. We hit it off great. That's besides the point. On our first few dates, she made it a point to let me know she was an independent woman. How she could pay her own bills and own way at restaurants/bars ect. What makes this story even more comical is how she spelled out I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T for me like that song by Webbie.
After a couple of months of dating and falling into a very comfortable state, it's natural you begin to share more intimate details of your life. That's when she told me about her financial situation. Her mother paid all her bills, rent, car note, insurance, and utilities. Her mother deposited "X" amount of dollars into her checking account monthly. My friend's sole job was to budget that money for the entire month. This included recreational money.
I called her out on it. We ended up having a good laugh over it afterwards...

Nowadays, kids have to try to ninja posts or come up with explanations for something someone quoted. Plus, you can't get into a good old fashioned fist fight anymore. You'll get sued. So now kids all try to act like their MMA fighters because they know nothing will happen to them.
Kids are getting soft.
Plus, I remember being VERY self-assured that people older than me had absolutely no clue what I was going through. I mean, how could they?

Absolutely. I used to do all kinds of crap to make myself look cooler. Of course, when I was a kid we didn't have the evidence. There was no internet. I never left a paper trail of stupidity like kids do today. You said something idiotic back then, you just said, "I never said that" and it was all over or you got into a fist fight.
You're correct about the "no trails left behind" years ago. It's alot harder to get away with things now-a-days. Technology has made this impossible. Which reminds me, I need to either cut down on my FB posting or just delete the damn thing. It makes it almost impossible to creep. What's the first thing a woman wants to do when she meets you? Become your FB buddy! Sole purpose...to stalk you. It's a double edged sord though. It can either be a hook-up or be your downfall.

There are women in my office who just stalk guys on their fb. People they just meet. Its crazy.
Plus, a guy who works in my office has multiple facebook accounts. One for the family and friends and the other for the women. He has to.. Guy is a serious player.

Second, I have never heard of a business being sold for such a small sum. If this is indeed the case, you got burned. Which you had mentioned your ambition to overcome your feelings of inadequacy due to your father's successes. So I guess you aren't starting off very well in that regard.
Third, you never did mention applying for a patent on your product. Mr. Noguera must have decided that such a cheap company should just be bought rather than starting his own production.
Lastly, how were you able to sell a product without naming your business. Did you just walk around saying, "Buy my trucks, they're really good"?
I call BS on the business. To me, it sounds like you had to come up with a business idea for one of your classes and now want to pass it off as if it had really happened.

Lmao @ Precessey! Post #9492.
Pwned statements from top to bottom.
That kid is making himself look SOOO bad.
EDIT: Massios that was some real schit right there. Couldn't have been better said.
I know how you feel though.
For my graduation present, my parents bought me an 88 Supra. Nothing special, it was my neighbors car, i've had my eyes on it for a while. It was in my reasonable budget, I didn't have my own car, I was just starting to get into the car scene. ( I still don't know jack squat ). Got my first semi-dream car for 1500. I really thought I was all that and a bag of chips in my pure stock NA supra. I never bragged about it to people I hardly knew. That's just not me.
At 17 and 18, yes I was at home. I mooched off my parents big time. They paid for gas and gave me like 20 bucks for the week. I hardly abused my priveleges, I always gave my parents the respect they deserved. Always will.
February 2010. I had the Supra for about a year now. I've been working at a local casino for a couple of months. My parents were the one who actually persuaded me to trade in my car. My mother has had her silverstone 03 350z for a while and loves it. I loved it too. She let me drive it a couple of times to take my girl out.
I ended up selling my Supra on craigslist and used the cash for a down payment on my 350z. The car is under my parents name, the dealership couldn't get a loan for an 18 year old kid in this kind of economy. I am very thankful and my parents know it. I do make the payments and i'm paying for my own gas by now :P My parents don't want me to worry about rent, i'm still at home.
I'm not bragging about my family, we are not rich or have money coming out of our ears. But my family tells me to not worry about other bills and payments. They tell me to live my life while i'm still young and that I will have the rest of my life to have bills.
With that being said. I do have extra money around to buy parts for the Z.
My girlfriend who i'm still dating since highschool (3 years strong) gives me MADDDDDDD schit about my car parts.
It's just her and her mom and they split all the bills down the middle. Rent. Cable. ETC. Plus she makes her own car payment.
"Must be nice to look at car parts while your parents pay rent."
She's over it now. Thank god.
I'm 19 now and I have a love & hate relationship driving my car. I have a CF hood. I have gold Varrstoens 3.3.2's. (CE28n replicas).
I get so many looks on the street from people driving by. I feel that they're negative looks.
"Look at that punk *** teen driving some POS ricer car that he doesn't deserve. Mommy and dadd are probably paying for it"
I just wish I wasn't judged.
I'm sorry that I have a cheesy taste in style.
I'm not an *** h0le driver.
I won't cut you off.
I swear to god i'm a decent guy, just say what's up, I love meeting chill people.
Bottom line. I just hate teens my age giving us a bad image.

So you're going to boost an eight year old car with 60k miles (more by the time you can actually afford FI)
My advise to you, seriously. You said you were joining the Army (or whatever branch). I would do nothing to the z now, save save save, i know it's hard when you're young. Wait untill after you do a deployment(I had about 30k in my bank from 1 9mo. deployment), sell z, Buy 370z or a newer Z with less miles.
I would not recomend boosting the z at your age. You're going to drop 10-15k and never see a penny of it back. Trust me, you will need the money you spend going FI at some point and you will never come close to getting it back.

Marine Corps, and yeah I'm more than happy with my car right now. No way I'm dropping that kind of money into a car that runs perfectly.
Funny how quickly you mature from age 16-18, atleast when it comes to financial priorities lol.
