Default Need Help Guys !!!!!!

So audio is def not my strong area. I've had many friends with systems and Ive helped install them before, so im not completley lost. I know that Im more of a performance guy and I enjoy listening to my engine... well its often times so loud I dont have a choice hahah. Im not interested in having the most rediculous system avaliable nor the most expensive, but I want quality. Im still trying to keep my car light so I know I want to keep it simple as possible. I know all I want is one 10" sub with the Zenclosures box. I like to listen to pretty much all kinds of music rap, rock, alternative etc. I want it to "bump" of course but still be somewhat clean. Sorry if I sound completley vague. My question is what kind of sub should I go with and how do you decide on the right amp for your sub .... I dont really know how many wattsto run, or what ohms, bridging and all that stuff is. Ive searched all 7 pages and didnt really find specific info. Thanks for your time... I know some of you guys are real audio genius'

I know it might be just becuase of the name but I heard JLw7 would be a good choice .... what do you guys think.

TimeAttkz,,,,the JL 10W7 is a great sub,,,but if you are worried about weight, I would take a different route. There are many subs out there that will give you a great sound, bump, ect, ect and weigh a lot less.

Also,,,,are you looking for more "loud bump" or more "Sound Quality" with a little bump? Also, depends on the price you want to spend.

Kicker, Alpine and Fosgate make great subs for good sound and bump.

Sea Lotus, Elemental Designs, and others are really good for SQ.

I personally and running two Alpine "type S", with an Alpine PDX 1.600.

It is plenty loud for me,,,sounds smooth and gives a great bump for all kinds of music. The PDX amps will run the same either 2ohm or 4ohm.

I have my subs in the understrut box from Zenclosures (MIke). Again, this is my opinion,,,,,there are a lot of guys here who have done some really awesome audio set-ups, and will offer a lot more information than me.

I hope this helps and look forward to photo's when you get your system installed...

I'll try to keep it simple for you with a few suggestions. All of which I've heard and liked. A ZEnclosure box is a good start so get to Mike's ebay store

SUBS:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9v9iGqd...0&I=2067C10VR4

Both of these are "quality" subs and have been time tested through the years. Personally I've run more Kicker subs in my vehicles but I do think the Alpine are a bit tighter in response.

Amps:

The reason I picked this amp is because I think once you pick up a sub and enclosure you'll want to change out, at the very least, the front door speakers. This amp will let you get away with running the sub (by bridging 2 channels) and in the future adding some front door comps. You could certainly go bigger and more expensive but this one will suffice for your "simple" needs.

A ZEnclosure is a must so go to Mike's online store or start looking in the Marketplace for a good deal. Sometimes you can also find a ZEnclosure and a sub combo. Just make sure the sub is something you think is quality.

I want it to bump loud for one 10" sub ... but since I listen to more than just rap I want it to also be clean for other types of music. Basically I want a pretty high quality sub/amp because I only have to buy one 10" so Im willing to spend some money on it. I dont want anyhting wayyy over the top. Whats the most popular 10'" being used ?? Anyone with the Zenclosures with a single 10" that is really happy with the sound ?? Please chime in...

Yea I saw that one for sale but whats confusing me is the fitment of the w7. Looks like it dosent fit into the Zenclosures box correctly ???? This guys set-up above just looks gross, no offense. How about the w6 and what is the diff in sound between the w6 and w7 ?? I also didnt see these subs listed on the "what fits" list on the zenclosures ebay page.

The only thing I can think of is that the airspace needed for the W7 isn't enough with just the Zenclosure.

Someone else needs to chime in here though to confirm that. Not sure what the differences in W6 and W7 are either.
