iv always thought about getting a detector cuz i hear about it from my friends, but i never owned one myself and was just wondering, with the v1, does it only detect speed radars that are trying to detect the speed your traveling by radar and cops posted on the side with radars? or does it also tell you when there is just another cop around? like that ^^x50, does it give a signal everytime there is a cop present or just a speed radar?

 

That was my X50, and it only detects radar. (Just as any other radar detector)

The difference is in how well it picks up the radar and/or how much it falses.

 

My V1 never falses, and only goes off when it needs to in L mode.

 

so do all cop cars have a radar that the detector auto detects? or does a cop have to be camping WITH a radar in hand or those other speed radars that are just there?i.e cameras that snap photos.

 

I have a V1 and love it!

 

I have two Passport X50's. One operates flawlessly. The other, must be taken off the dash during warm sunny days or it will get hot and randomly go off until the ac cools it off. Having friends with V1 having no problems, I recommend trying Valentine.
