I have actually been doing a fair amount of research on this exact topic.
Depending on what you're looking for... you can check out
Kenwood DPX 503 it's got two sets RCA's and the illmination colors are customizable. Not all lights have to be the same color either, check out multiple screenshots here
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DPX5...px+503&tp=5684
Given the fact that CES 09 is concluding there are several new H/U that should do the same thing
Older but in dash 6 Disc
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/AVH-P6000DVD
&
Brand New has 3 sets of preamps at 4 volt
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/AVH-P4100DVD
Hope this helps, just check out most of the newer manufacturers websites, most of the new H/U are up but not available yet. Personally I'd stick with either Pioneer or Kenwood, premier or excelon if available. But I'm personally not looking for GPS so these units might not be worth a crap to you, but the info was vague as to what you were looking for.

If you're willing to entertain obsolete units then the Nakamichi CD700 and Nakamichi CD500 are available, plus a couple more in that product line. The buttons and display can both be amber.

i have an AVH-P6000 it matches perfect with amber lights. And what is great is when i do my LED swap i can change the color to match with touch of a button. You can custom match up to 6000 colors or something crazy like that.

Good stuff so far, thanks guys. I know the Nakamichi's are a few years hold, but how outdated are they? I know I wont be able to control my ipod via the headunit for sure.

Of course, the point of a Nak CD500/CD700 is its >100db S/N ratio, not the ipod integration. They look classy, too. Sorry I can't get a picture, my car is in transport at the moment, but you can find pics on the internet easily enough.

Ah, got it. Thanks. Duke, how do you know this? CES 09?
I don't know about you guys but I'm kind of surprised that they haven't thought of this yet. I mean how many cars do you know that come with bright blue screens and ambient lighting??

Alpine 9887 matches exactly. I can't find an online pic for you, but you can go to one of the big stores and see for yourself. It has iPod control, and you can go active if you want. If not, it has a tuning feature called "Imprint" that listens to your cars acoustics and sets the time correction, EQ's and crossovers. It's a great head unit, check it out.

So i was looking at the Kenwood DPX503. does it work with the steering controls, if so do i need an adapter? It seems the color will match and installation wont be too bad. I am debating between this or Kenwood DDX512 and have the same questions.

KManZ and BeejZ: I have Alpine 9887 and when I saw your posts I was hoping that the whole unit has amber lights but that's not the case... some buttons are amber and other ones are red ![Frown](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Is there some way to change all of the lights to amber?
