If you want to pay double to get a new one, by all means. And, for $89, what do you expect?

i paid $89 for mine, looked new, all in original packaging, works fine. No other PNA is that cheap regardless of it being refurb or not.

How did you wire the power. Is it hard wired in?

you need fuse the 12V. You can either buy an extra cigarette adaptor or hard wire it with an in-line fuse.

^^ I would suggest that you should keep the device’s low voltage in-line adapter in place, and plug this into a power receptacle (the “cigarette adapter” you mention).

Doing this is wise since the device may not be exactly 12v. If the device is 6v to 10v (and that is likely), it needs its step-down adapter for safe operation.

i bought an extra cigarette adapter. I wire it along with my radio and just plugged in my Plenio's charger to the new cigarette adapter. So it turns on and off with the car.

You need buy something like this:
http://www.dcpwr.com/shop/images/Cig%20Adapter-F.jpg

Then you need to find any 12V and a ground near where you want to hide the adaptor in the picture above.

Then plug in the a/c adapter that came with your Plenio.

So just so I know I am reading this right here is what I need to do:

- buy that adapter
- Take apart center consol
- splice my chord going to my 12v outlet and connect it with the adapter I need to buy
- run the normal plenio chord down through my center console and plug it into this adapter

yes that is correct. But i think if you connect to a constant 12V, the plenio will not shut off unless you unplug the cigarette adapter. Find a ACC 12V source.

I will try to post better pix this weekend.

just plug it in you ac plug outlet. Leave the switch to on position and it will just turn on and off with the car...

For a more stealth look, purchase a new ac plug and hid it under the dash!

As for power: the best way to route power for this would be to tap into your cig lighter wires. Pop out the plug and get some wire taps, red is positive and black is ground. You'll probably have to run some new wire. As the OP said, it will power on and off with the car. Another option is to tap into the ACC line on the back of the radio and ground the other wire.

I just wired up my own fuse box system in my car, which allows me to tap into power for any new accessories. You can check out the thread here: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...-my-setup.html if you are interested.
