My $100 like OEM fit NAVIGATION setup
does anybody want to seed the OCN8 software? I have a demonoid account even and it's not on there anymore that I can find.
anyone have an FTP site or something that I can get a copy of it?

Have you ever had any issues with the device not recognizing the external antenna? I thought I just wasn't getting signal, but now in the OCN8 program, it says the antenna device is not found. Hmm...wondering if I got a faulty external unit.

the gps antenna is exceptionally fast on this unit. It catches signal very fast. All the reviews and I myself noticed how fast the GPS signal is on the Plenio.
Try going under setting in OCN8 and see what baud rate and configurations its at. Try seraching for GPS signal in the program as well. Then it should detect the antenna.
Yes you can search restaurants, entertainment, gas stations, etc, like on a Garmin. Its all in the POI (Point Of Interest) database. But personally I suggest you only keep POI of states you will go to. It speeds up the loading.

Where is everybody putting their receiver units? I tried putting mine behind the actual screen vertically and using the magnet to attach it on top of the metal part of the radio, but it picks up no signal...
ok , so I noticed that there is a remote included... do you need the remote for any features that you cannot access through the touch screen? if so, where is the IR receiver? did you guys add a hole somewhere for the remote to work?
also, on some sites it lists a feature of a built in fm modulator, is that true?

You have to go under the settings button and set up the GPS antenna. You just have to check the box.
To answer a couple of questions:
I mounted my antenna right behind the gauge cluster. I just popped up the plastic piece behind it, and routed the wire. There is a nice little pocket right behind the tach that it fits perfect in. Signal goes right through the plastic.
You have you set up the antenna the first time you run OCN8. Just set it for autodetect and it will pick it up.
You can use the remote to do just about anything with the nav unit, but when the screen is mounted in the factory location, the IR sensor is blocked, rendering the remote useless.
There is a built in FM modulator. You can set what station it broadcasts to in the main settings on the Plenio.

ok thanks guys, i know sometimes remotes are needed to access some settings or features for some things, but if you can use the touchscreen to do everything the remote does, I wont worry about it.

I read the how-to on how to take the top gauge cluster piece out...Does the plastic piece pop out without having to take the whole unit out? Where would you pry/pull?
There is a lot more you can do to OCN8, like backgrounds, custom themes, and even change the arrow to a 350z! But for me i like clean oem things so i kept is simple.
Could somebody post a good link for a OCN8 download? Unfortunately I bought the 3000 about a year ago, and put it in my (03) cubby. It looks good, but not as good as the 2100. I still would like to use the OCN8 though.
