anybody remember this?
The problem with that is the lid doesn't go far enough back, so part of the screen would be blocked (unless of course you are really, really short)

Here are a few pics I took during the install. More to come later...Sorry for the sideways ones (laziness)

Power Cable that came with it, modded for my setup. I just cut off the cig. adapter and put some plugs on it.

Burner, you need an inline fuse. Looks like you power lines are not fused! Any jump on voltage could burn the plenio~

I have one...I actually have all the electronics in my car wired to an auxiliary fuse box. I used a 3A fuse for the GPS (this is what was inside the cig adapter). I posted a thread about my fusebox setup here: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...-my-setup.html

You are right though; ALWAYS make sure you use a fuse, especially with something like this. It will try the GPS unit before it pops a 10 or 15 amp fuse.

im going to attempt to modify the stock 06+ cubby, and if it turns out shitty, I will have to jump for the 06+ nav center piece, turning this from a $100 mod to a $330 mod... hoping that i can get it to work and look as good as the older ones!

I used the MSN Live Cashback deal and it worked! At the moment it was offering 8% cashback on ebay buy it now items.

Also i initially bought the VXA-3000 which i tried to make it work and i failed miserably. Broke some ribbons and etc and sold off for parts.

VXA-3000 does not fit, don't even try purchasing the 3000 in hopes to make it fit....

one thing I would like to find a solution to is to be able to access the SD card while the unit is installed. Anybody have any ideas on this?

I found a CF extender, but nothing for an SD card yet... this is what i was thinking, but for an SD card, I will keep looking...

Edit:

Will the plenio recognize a usb drive? I saw a mini-USB port on it, but if you got a mini usb to usb adapter to plug in a thumb drive, would that work?

I will have to give that a try, but I read the pdf to upgrade the nav software, and it looks like it is defaulting to the SD card to look for the files

The Plenio is set up to read the nav files from the SD card. I don't think it has a whole lot of internal memory. I saw that USB plug as well. My guess would be that it would show up as a removable drive and you'd be able to read the contents of the SD card, but I didn't test it before installation.

I looked everywhere for an SD extension, and found nothing. I am considering making one, it wouldn't be too hard.

Finally got my setup finished. The OCN8 navi works great. There's 2 things thats bugging me though...First, when you exit the navi program it says "Cannot find Navigation Program." Are you guys getting that as well? The other thing is when i play music videos from the sd card, it tends to lagg and freeze a lot. Other than that works great for $100.

The USB port on the Plenio is for diagnostic purposes only (used by the manufacturer). The computer will not recognize the Plenio nor is there a driver for it.

Making progress, thanks to everyone's help on here. Hopefully finished today. I also wired up a switch for the unit.

How do you update the unit with the new V1.64 OS? I got the file (NK+V1.64.bin) and loaded it on to a new SD card, and tried doing the OS upgrade from the Setting menu, but it just said that the upgrade file could not be found.

For that matter, do I even need to have the V1.64 OS to use OCN8?
