Default I want copy your android touchscreen install. Show me what you have.

07 350z base here

All I want is a 7" touchscreen android. All I need it for is music, Google maps, and to make calls.

As far as I can tell I need a touch screen unit (here's where you tell me what to buy. I don't want tk spend over $300), a double din fitment kit (also, here I need to be told which one to buy), and a wiring harness (this I think is pretty simple and I can can buy).

Kind of a noob when it comes to car audio. So one question that may sound really stupid but.... how does the stereo connect to internet? I know the touchscreen units have apps but do they directly connect somehow to the internet or are they connected through my phones wifi Hotspot?

I would rather ask stupid questions than attempt to purchase this stuff myself and screw it up. I'm perfectly cool with copying one of your builds that worked out well and end up with a good unit that fits correctly.

Thanks for the help. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Check out crutchfield.com for what fits/what you need. Not sure if you can order where you are (and models may vary) but good info to help you along.

Your carplay or android auto deck operates through your phone.

For those attempting to make fun of me on the $300...yeah it's mostly going to be used for the track so sound quality isn't super important. I saw unit for $180 on Amazon. This is a budget build and my money is going tk mostly be spent on thing like an OS GIKEN diff and wheels/tires and suspension.

I will check out Crutchfield.com, thanks

This seems to fit the bill well. I'll just splice all the wires and steal some wire from work to hook up my amps and subs.

Crutchfield website is great. Free installation kits is a nice touch

You'll need it to read CDs so you can download the compatability software.

My ancient '03 other car has no aux-in, no-Carplay, no USB, no need. It has an uber-modern 6-disc changer!! Oooooooo.

I love my "mix-CDs". Hahahahahaha.

Well apparently the audio thread side of this forum is useless. Aparently the audio guys are a different breed from the guys who actually know how to drive.

Sorry, buddy. Not sure if you realize it or not, but when we click "new posts" it comes up with posts indiscriminately. Meaning we will see it, and let's be honest, spoonfeed you, no matter what section you post it in. Audio/Video, Off-topic, maintenance, doesn't matter. We are everywhere.

I would buy your stuff and start a thread and do a really good job with good pictures and good write-ups on how to accomplish this...

I have a HU without a disc and it works great, it's not that I'm making fun of the $300, it's an unrealistic price for a system with all those features. I have a really basic setup and it cost somewhere around the $1000 region.
