I wouldn't buy the bars that costs that much. I bought the Hotchkis bars which were around $250 at the time. If you race or autocross, or you have money to burn, I'd say go for the more expensive solid type like Cusco or 350EVO.
For people like me who just drive on city streets, the bars don't matter that much, and they're even counter productive on freeways in a way: it makes the car handle more "squirly" which means you have to put more effort into keeping it going in a straight line. Normally it's not a problem, but if you're tired and driving a few hundred miles, it can be. (I think I can fix that by changing the settings, but I'm too lazy to jack the car up again.)
They are great when you're really pushing the car, though, because I've noticed that it helps me turn more easily and even keep better control of the wheels while sliding (not that it helps much until you get traction back, but it helps you get set up). Really, all it seems like to me is that it makes it easier to steer during fast and tight turns. For anything else, it isn't all that significant.
The short shifter was a much better investement for me. And I don't care about most of the other mods people like, such as intakes and cosmetics. The only other thing that would interest me is a S.C. or turbo, but for all it costs I'd rather just put it toward a new car.
BTW, there's a "database" of all the brands if you check out the stickies above.

If you're having a problem with understeer, you could replace the rear anti-sway bar. For oversteering problems, replace the front.
A less expensive solution might be to alter your cornering technique.

I installed Stillen sways w/ Prothane bushings and have no regrets at all. But, then again, I've replaced my entire suspension to get to where I wanted to be. I also agree w/ the the moderator-if you're not pushing it, you don't need it. Also, settings, if you buy adjustable, can make a really big difference, depending on what you have in mind for the car.
There are SOOOO many threads on this and so many really good products--I suggest you do some research and decide what your needs are.

Wait...so you're saying solid bars are actually better? I thought hollow ones were better = lighter and stiffer?
Also, anybody know the diameters of the stock F/R sways?
