Don't think there's a governing agency that would/could mandate replacements as must be brand new engines. It's the manufactures option I believe, as long as they still honor continuing factory warranty on warranty replacements done.

Just did another oil change at 3757 miles on V2 (fourth one with 2017mi on this oil) Sending off for UOA analysis.

My V2 used 8mm of oil in this past interval and has improved since last interval. Hope it continues to improve.

When I total my consumption with all service intervals done since swap, it = 20mm consumed in 3757 miles.

I didnt file the complaint on that. Just for the reoccuring oil consumption problem.

I WISH I could afford the 2009 model. Maybe in a few years too lol.

For now I would get a 05/05 and have enough left over for heads, cam and other bolt ons.
rebuild the rear end first...even with stock power they are having issues...

I heard that someone had NISSAN pay for a built motor somewhere. (It was like his third motor) I think though. I think it was Altered Atmosphere that did the build, not sure? I think he got a built block but no warrantee from Nissan. That maybe the way to go if you all ever want boost and high horse power since half the stuff we do, we void the warrantee anyways.

lol

Oh understand, sorry. Thought we were still talking about V2's as not 100% new lol.

In general and somewhat a rant......

I still feel that the NHTSA should know about every failure being the first, second, third, bought back, lemon lawed, whatever on these. NNA (frickin Infiniti too) should be held accountable about this, especially when it still seems a 50/50 crap shoot and still not a 100% proven fix. NHTSA are the ones that can mandate recalls against manufactures and light fire under their ***** for many things.

If the NHTSA still sees defects happening and reoccuring ones from same owners with past filed complaints, they may finally possibly light that torch and inquire with WTH are you still not doing right here....yet! Do we need to tell you and mandate as such? Why isn't your TSB solving this long drawn-out issue? Do you really want the general public to publicy know about this and tarnish your multi-year VQ award record? etc....

Know many G35 owners have filed complaints, as I have a thread over there about it. Same here, but it fell into the abyss with little to no interest, whatever. First page on this thread has link to file complaint.

From first page:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/

Know if my V2 doesn't improve to what I feel acceptable consumption (no OC at all would be nice and feel I'm entitled to that as some here have stated with their's from the get-go; screw TSB chart that NNA feels acceptable in their eyes imo ), I'm filing a second complaint with this replacement.

Might anyway as my OC stands now well past factory stated break-in miles. Total consumption added up with all my over-the-normal oil services to current 3,757 miles on V2 has been 20mm total (> 3/4qt). That's BS on a fresh engine regardless if it continues to improve to whatever and who the hell knows.

rant over...

The problem isnt the diff, its the wheel hop that crack and breaks the diff. Theres a company in Tampa that makes braces to eliminate 75% of the wheel hop. Plus I can I always do a Mosler 12 bolt conversion later on

I'm on my 2nd OC test now. The first one was 90% highway miles so it was only down about 2mm. This time after 1100 miles it was down 16mm.

Hey guys,
out 05 z base model went in for the oil consumption test multiple times and failed. It was approved for warranty.
We got it back today and seems to drive different, maybe because they had it for ever. LOL

But what is different about the engine they have put in.
Part Number 10102 - cd7m1

Can't find info on this engine anywhere.

Thanks

^ Maybe he has a Auto trans = non revup. His sig doesn't say 6mt or 5at. Wow, hope the dealer didn't pull a fast one if he has a 6mt.

Have read a few G35 owners on Driver with non revups having OC issues and been replaced under warranty. Just no where near the same numbers in comparison to revups.

Infiniti non revup part # is 10102-AM8M1.
Where-as the revups # is 10102-AC7M9.

Wow a little confused too! It is a base 05 with a 6MT.
So what hp motor did i get? It still has the orginal lower and upper factory intake manifold on it.

Would'nt the computer control this, they would probably have to reflash it i would guess. But iguess this would be a way to find out. Have a whole 22mi's on the motor, i am off to go bounce it off the limiter.

For you few G35 peeps on this thread to look up engines, go here:

Think non revup's on 350Z's is 286hp. They swap parts from your old VQ on these replacements. Replacements are only long blocks.

Agree ECU controls rpm limit, reflashed by dealer...who knows.
Redlining with only 22mi on VQ...will bite tongue on my thoughts around that, your engine.

Just looked at TSB...
Applied vehicles (maybe these only the revup's idk)
2005 350Z (Z33) Track and 35th Anniversary Edition with M/T
2006 350Z (Z33) with M/T

Yeah i was joking about reving to limiter. Don't thint it would be the best thing todo right now. lo
Yeah it came orginally with a non rev up 287 i think it is.
