man, sorry to hear that. I tried to get that out all over the forum. That stuff was crap IMO. I did burn through it very quickly, that is the only oil I have had that issue with.

^Read the first page, posts #1-6.
Do a UOA on your current oil and see how's it doing good/okay/bad.

Mobil 1 0W-40, that's what I use and have also been recommended on this thread for NA.

German Castrol 0w-30. Hard to find in the USA now. Maybe not in Australia. Good results with our VQ's if I remember right from here.

Rotella T Syn 5w40 is sold under Rimula in AU from what I remember. That not doing bad at all. I think Mobil 1/Delvac 1 is readily available there as well in 5w40. No UOAs here yet, but has done well in other applications and properties show it may be well suited here.

In Australia? Buy some Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 and then get a UOA done. Please post the results here and we'll take a look at them for you.

Will,

I know this may be off topic, however, I did saw that you comented on it before on another thread. I am taking my car tomorow to get a SS clutch line install, should I go with Motul RBF 600 for my fluid? Or which "will" you (Pun intended) recomend? I know how you feel about French produtcs.

actually, Will recommended the Motul Gear 300 differential oil to me when I asked for a recommendation.

Will may correct me here, but IIRC Castrol SFR is the ultimate when it comes to Brake Fluid (or clutch fluid in this case.) Of course, it is mondo expensive though!..........about $80 per liter.

Castrol SRF is the best spec'd brake fluid there is, and probably a waste of money for anyone not entering their car in LeMans. Motul RBF 600 is what I use in my Z for brake fluid, and Motul does make gear oils which are very well tested. For a clutch line, I would not use RBF600. If you really wanted to use a Motul product, I would use their DOT5.1 fluid in the clutch. The 600 is very hygroscopic and the 5.1 is designed for a longer service life, and since the clutch id rarely flushd and doesn't see any where near the temps of a brake caliper, the 5.1 is better suited. Personally, I use Valvoline SynPower in the clutch. Long life and good specs, plus it's inexpensive and easy to find.

Just had to repost how greatful I am with this thread. I run the Pensoil Platinum and I just went with a low 8psi Vortech setup on my stock block. I had my engine replaced by Infiniti with a Japanese Handbuilt one... (22Kish on new motor) 66K on the car. My part number has yet to be duplicated from the replaced block thread, hence my car no longer burns oil. I did run Mobile 1 full syn and it chewed through oil like a suno***un! I will continue to run the Pensoil Platinum, like I have since 06/2006 and in 3K I will do a burn test for the result to be displayed here. I just changed it for the first time after 2K miles...but I considered this the break in period and the results may read higher than normal from the abuse of the initial boost.

Thanks again Resolute and everyone for sending the samples in. I have read every post, even the ones from the begining that have changed over the months....its funny, however seeing the lazy people ask questions that have been answered.... LAZY < EFFORT> TIME....I guess.

lol

My 240sx was getting bad lifter noise with Motul 300V 15w50 while drifting. I changed to Mobil 0w40, motor runs like a champ! I've used Mobil 0w40 for my last two drift days, no lifter noise.

Just changed to Mobil 0w40 in my G from Motul 8100 5w40. Motul was burning up oil pretty bad. Hopefully the Mobil 0w40 will alleviate my oil consumption a bit. We'll see at the next change.

Thanks for this thread.
