Default Alternate mounting points

Once again my shortsightedness and self-centeredness reveal themselves!

Who knew that everyone doesn’t have an Injen CAI!

Anyway, I tried to remove the driver’s side factory ground cable with NO luck. There was no way to get a socket on the bolt and it is at such an angle that a 10mm wrench will not get it either.

Here are some alternatives to mount to the chassis. If any of these mounting points are used, it is likely that a shorter wire would be necessary.

This last one may still be behind the factory air box - I can't remember

Please keep the feed back coming!

Received my 6th wire on the 19th also. Not only does Guy do a professional job on the kit but he is a pleasure to deal with. Not only prompt and professional but very courteous in all of our transactions. Glad to do business with him. I would only say if you are interested in one of these kits, you definitely should consider getting his. If only car dealerships were run by folks like Guy. To quote the BB's "Wouldn't it Be Nice"

I'm going to pick up an eye today after work, and see if i can cut the ground wire and put a new end on it. Then i'll try to find a good place to drill so i can put both the ground and the 6th wire together. I'll let eveyone know how it goes. Probably shouldnt be that hard. The only thing holding me back, is i just got this car 3 weeks ago, and im already cutting wires and drilling holes.

lemans- what you said... "If only car dealerships were run by folks like Guy. To quote the BB's "Wouldn't it Be Nice"" how true, how true.
6th wire came today- just installed. Will post my impressions this weekend.

Default grounding kit for other vehicles?

Hey guys!
First, great community you guys have here! lots of awesome information!
Second, I don't have a Z, I do have a G, but my questions involve my other vehicles. Will a grounding kit help with any car or truck? If I were to try and design one myself, what kind of mount points should I look for and what should be connected to what?

TIA,
Dan

Had a chance to put some miles on today.
I can't say that I can discern a difference between the 5 wires and the addition of the 6th- still much smoother than without the kit and about the same with 5 or 6.
Looks nice, though!!!

Next installation is on my Chevy K1500HD !!!

Clue me in, I bought the kit long ago, pics at website.

What is all this new stuff about the "6th wire."

Is it free to exsisting customers? Do I need it?

Another wire couldn't hurt!!

What's all the hubbab bub? (as my old work partner used to say)

RIP Clark, you are missed

InSaNeAmine's explanation is on page 15 of this thread. Basically, JDM kit included one extra wire and 10 of us were sent the extra wire to test.

Thanks,

I can't garner enough feedback to determine what the benefit is so I guess mine will stay as is.

Thanks again, read from page 15 to present.

Just installed the Earthing Kit to my new Z that has 300 miles on it. I DEFINATELY noticed a smoother engine at RPM's over 4K and the idle dropped slightly when the engine reached normal operating temperature.

I'm shifting this sucker at 7K and having a blast!

Need MORE HP! Basically would like the R's to come up a lot faster. ANy ideas????????

Engine bay with the 6th wire. Should I leave it silver or buy a red one?

I'm curious what color wires did you get for the Superblack?

I wanted a stock look and got BLACK for that reason. I thought clear or silver would look good, but they will yellow after time from engine heat.

I have done a few searches in the forums on the topic of grounding and earthing kits and have read this entire thread and I appreciate everyone's input.

However, what I'm looking for is information on this topic by automotive publications.

I searched Sport Compact Car's web-sight for the article that some of the dyno results were cut/pasted from but all it comes up with is car articles that mention this mod in passing or simply list it as a mod.

Any links to publications reviewing or discussing this topic would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

(I'm also posting a new thread w/ the same question for those who may not read 14 pages )

Default Sixth wire in G35 Coupe

Thanks Guy
I installed the 6th wire on my G35 Coupe today. On the G35, it is EASY to get to the factory ground location, so that is where I attached it. I routed it next to existing earthing kit wire - then under air intake hose - over to factory ground on drivers side of car. I can not provide pics because my camera is no more.
I'll drive a bunch to see if I notice anything. As far as idle goes, exactly the same.

Second kit from Guy installed tonight on a friend's DB Performance. No problems other than slippery fingers dropping a bolt down onto the plastic shroud below.
Good thing I had my fishing license!!!!
I'm sure he's already enjoying the smoothness by now...
