Custom Engine Grounding/Earthing Kit
I just installed mine in less than an hour with no broken bolts, the only hitch was i had to go back and loosen some of the bolts again and adjust the wires because i wanted as neat of a look as possible. It definately idles lower and smoother, and they look great too.
i have seen a lot of pictures- it looks cool to have a bit of color running around the engine.
But... I would love to see how grounding to ground has any impact on performance.... By the way, the resistance from most of the points on my engine and to any other point is between 1 and 4 milliohms (that is thousanths of an ohm... right at the limit of my test equipment). I do see some ground loops on some of the pictures- a definite no-no for a signal-handling system, but no effect on the engine. If the radio is noisy at the low end of the FM band, and you use a phone with an RF transmitter, you may find the signal is a bit noisy.
Curious. Opinions??

I just went to the hyperground website
I am truly amazed- LOL!!!!!!!!
They claim 10 times lower impedance- well, based on the measurements I did in my engine, this would put the bulk resistivity in their copper wires at less than 20% of the purest oxygen-free high conductivity copper ever produced... a pretty amazing feat, I think. (they confused impedance with resistance- most of the signals in the engine compartment are DC or very close to DC, (other than the spark and speed sensor signal)) so impedance is essentially the resistance, but this is a minor point. The ECU does not know anything about the existence of these wires- it has it's own ground-signal pairs.
I would be concerned with the crappy little tin-plated battery clamp that they include, relative to a low resistance gold plated unit that you can get at any decent auto audio place- that alone would have as much "effect" as their wires.
Sorry to be a skeptic but this kit goes along with the magnets on the gas line increasing mileage by "aligning the gas molecules"...
BTW-I do not discount the cool factor in having some color in the engine compartment- makes for good showing. A low resistance air filter will have a much greater effect on the high end power and perhaps a bit on mileage (like a K&N) for about 25% of the cost of the wires.

I will also let you know that an unofficial pole was taken and a high percentage of grounding kit users also use magnetic shoe inserts and magnetic bracelets. And, on Car Talk this morning Click and Clack stated that the human chin can diffuse IR signals. So there you have it.
I listened to Click and Clack this morning too
They were laughing so hard they couldn't do the credits.
A buddy of mine came over for dinner- between us we have more than 70 years experience on cars. He read some of these threads and he almost busted a gut too.
But anyway, if they look cool and people believe... what harm is it, and someone makes $125US on every set sold... By the way, read the hyperwhatever website, and count the grammatical errors...

This thread isn't about Hyperground or HKS. It was started by fellow member InSaNeAmInE who builds and sells these kits for far less than the JDM option. He counts many of us as satisfied customers. My installation was 4000 miles ago and I experienced a smoother idle and the loss of the "dead spot" when first touching the gas. Hardly anyone believes they are experiencing an increase in horsepower but it does seem that the ECU operates with a "clearer head".
Interestingly enough, when I looked at my Chevy HD pickup, they already had a set of wires run to various points around the engine and the ground from the battery exited with 2- 4 ga. wires to different points. There has to be a reason why GM would go to this extra expense and it seems obvious that Nissan chose to save the $$.
Anyway, if you want to flame other grounding kit producers, please start a new thread- this one belongs to InSaNeAmInE and his current and potential customers.

Many are skeptics at the concept but racecars, from what I understand, have them. They are a dealer option in Japan and other countries. And prior to the installation of my kit another Z owner videoed his tachometer before and after the installation. Prior to the installation my own tachometer would vary a few hundred RPMs when the engine was cold and when the engine was warm. After the installation the tachometer barely moves when the engine is cold or when warm. I have to stare at it to even see it move at all. It varies less than 50 RPMs. This is what I can tell you. I can’t explain it but I am a believer and I don’t have magnets in my shoes or wrists. If you would like to see for yourself than get a kit from InSaNeAmine (Z-Xtreme.com) I think that he offers a money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied and he is a great guy and is very honest.
Ditto. I was a skeptic too. My dead spot off idle is gone, the idle is also smoother, and as others have noted the tach barely moves. I don't know if it adds more power, I can't feel it, but the engine is much smoother. Glad I did it.

**No one** is going to come in 24 pages late on a 5 star thread and discredit Guy (InSaNeAmInE) after all the good dealings we have had with him and the compliments on his kit.
I love mine, I didn't buy it for HP, I bought it because I learned it was a factory option in Japan was improving idle and smoothing out acceleration (on Auto's) I researched it bought it installed it and gave it a thumbs up. Since then I have even redone my color and kit. All thanks to Guy who is in in my very short section of trusted poeple at my web page (under links.)
Don't hate congratulate or if your not from Kali "don't knock it till you have tried it."
