Custom Engine Grounding/Earthing Kit
I went to put the cover back on and noticed that the top left cover hole area already had 3 wires bolted to it so my cover now only has 3 bolts lol. Oh well I was proud that I did it myself and didn't have to pay an hour labor to someone.
Sounds like you might have hooked those 3 wires to the wrong bolt......if you look at Insaneamine's instructions, you'll see the bolt you remove on the left side (facing the engine from the front of the car) is actually on a bracket. The 3 wires attach with a bolt you put in the bracket bolt hole, not the engine cover hole.
Check it out.
I told people I wasn't a DIY'er haha.
Guess I have a weekend project.
Other than that is everything correct?
Thanks!!!!!

P.S. If I can live with 3 bolts on the cover is this change necassary???

I looked at the pictorial again and my wiring is right it's just using different bolts on the same area of the engine. I'm gonna redo it this weekend anyway to get my fourth bolt back on the cover so it looks right.
Other than that it was smooth sailinga and a good mod and a good dealing with the seller.
If I can do this mod *anyone* can!

One of my many fantastic customers and fellow Z fanatics sent me this today.
He took the time and effort to have his car dyno’d with and without the Grounding Kit. This should settle the long running debate of whether the Grounding Kit really works or if it is just a placebo.
"I dyno my Z today and Guess what i got 1.4 rwhp from your grounding kit!!!!!"
Behold the results… an increase of 1.4 HP!!!
I have been meaning to have this done myself. I just have not found the time. I figured it would be good for business. I have also purchased the “back-issue” of the fabled Import Tuner magazine in which they field-test the grounding kit on several cars. I’ll post the article when I get the mag.
Thanks again everyone!!!

Well the install is done. Your kit came the other day and the JWT Pop_Charger came yesterday.
Started with the Pop_Charger first and that went smoth but for the two screws that hold the heat sheld. Those are in to tight of a spot, used a 90 degree phillips to reach them. If you can change them out for sheet metal srews with a hex head do it. From everything that I have read I choose the Pop-Charger for 3 reasons. The Install, The Placement and The Cost.
After that was all set for the final tighting I started on the Earthing kit. The instructions that came with it were dead on but as I'm a little slow so I downloaded the some of the pages of the thread on the laptop and took it out in the garage for the pics. This went just like it should.
By now I had about 2 1/2 hours in tightened everything down and I was out of there.

Today (1/4/03) I had the opportunity to run my track model on a chassis dyno (www.dynopro.com). The first two pulls established consistent results and curves. I disconnected the battery ground for the third and HP went down (although it was only be 2 HP). After that I reconnected the grounding kit that insaneamine supplied and sure enough, the fourth pull established a clear gain.
Max power: 244.3 HP
Max Torque: 238.4
Ran the motor to 6400 RPM
Thanks again, insaneamine!
P.S. I forgot to mention that the 'extra gift' was also much appreciated!

I redid mine this weekend, glad I did, wanted it done right.
I highly recommend this mod. Heck I would have bought that blue one available now for 70 bucks if it was available when I bought mine. Someone should swoop on that! Pics of mine are on my website.

I ordered a silver kit from insaneamine. It was shipped promptly and received in good condition with instructions and a very valuable bonus gift. Well constructed and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Thanks again everyone.
May the New Year bring good health, much happiness, and great success to you all.

HP gains were slight- between 2-3 HP. They were measurable however and the dyno tech said to me: "Whatever you did in there between runs made a difference".
All I did was reconnect the grounding kit to the negative side of the battery.

I would like to "swoop on that" if it's still available. I will write you email also to check. Although I am the king of DIY, I looked into it, and I'm better off buying the kit from you. Just the crimp tool purchase alone makes it worthwhile. I'm guessing you got your money's worth on that purchase.
