The Official LS Swap Info/Questions Thread
Brew_haha, whats the difference between your new mil spec harness and the one running the car now?

My old harness loomed in the Nylon braided loom- Does not come with a Cannon plug disconnect - What we call a CM1 harness. Goes directly from the motor to the ECU like stock
The Mil-spec harness comes loomed in the Raychem DR25 high heat and diesel fuel resistant heat shrink and individual sensor labeling. It will also come with the Mil-Spec cannon plug quick disconnect
The original harness was only used for mock up and testing. No sense in using the expensive loom ad cannon plug for mocking up and testing

here is a picture of the individual sensor labeling

here is a quick picture i snapped with the iphone while we were taking better pictures with the sweet nikon d5100
I should have some pictures of it installed this weekend, installed it, the 92TB and no2 plate and the new sikky shifter and im just happy that i can use my stock shift **** now. Before it wouldnt even think about threading on.
No problem edafe always here to help.
Quamen - thats what i thought as well, i have a feeling when it arrives today and i install it tonight nothing is going to change but we will see. If it doesnt ill be swapping to the fueled racing kit. Ill prob be swapping either way. If they use the stock shifter then the motor has to sit a goo couple of inches further back.
Also a little birdie told me they have some old guys from full race on board helping develop twin turbo kits for both the S and Z/g chassis. I will have more info on this in the next couple of months.

Oh may Logan are you serious about the twin turbo kits.. If so I would love to get my hands on that..
I will know more info in the next 3 months about the tubo kits and i hope they are not BS ing around. But i dont think they are.
Vas - i think you are going to love your CM2 it comes with the mil spec connector and the nylon loom.

For guys like me who are potentially going for an LS7, the dry sump system may not fit. There is a bunch of info around on doing a wet sump conversion

People are reporting tiny gains in power, but all in all it might be worth looking into.
And if you're real bold

Also I'm not sure if this has been gone over yet, but Tick Performance does TR-6060 swaps for GTO T-56s.

Where are you trying to locate the dry sump to. If you drill out the spot welds on the secondary firewall you might get the room needed to locate the dry sump where the factory battery location is.
I'm not. I'm going to do a wet sump conversion. Makes more sense to me.
LAME! I wonder if the new stiffer centering spring is too stiff and pulling it out of gear? You could test it buy removing the spring and seeing if the transmission still has the issue. Did the issue with the amount of play in gear go away?
It sounds like they might have it working at their place but may be having issues when they build them in batches...This would point to me that they have some parts that are not coming in spec or their design does not account for assembly variability in the T56. Which could explain why they have a working one on their end and customers have issues.
This news is pushing me even more toward the fueled swap kit. IMO it is a simpler kit with less stuff to go wrong even though there may be some cons with it being back so far. Correct me if I am wrong.

^not at all, the only limitation i can see with the fueled kit is the fact that taller valve covers might not clear the battery firewall. sikky shifter is garbage, sikky wiring is garbage. mounts, an oil pan are beautiful but it stops there.
Well if I cant shift that to me is a show stopper. I am a few months away from ordering the kit, so hopefully they can fix it. I am not going to run a large cam or 1.8 roller rockers so the tall valve covers should not be an issue.

Unfortunately Mods don't make this decision, its more IB and Admins. I fell it will come eventually.
